Overshown is gone for the season. And if one OL starter misses any games, the OL is in huge trouble.
Once again, Dallas will be going to scrap heap, in free agency, when teams make there HUGE cut downs in a week.
Yes, there will be some decent/good players that will be released for a variety of reasons. Dallas needs to grab to fill holes in the above mentioned positions.

I couldn’t agree more.

Yeah. That’s honestly my only real worry roster wise right now. Is OL depth. LB a bit with the Overshown injury. Less so because Quinn can mask that a bit with our large safeties playing some LB in certain packages.

What? But Dallas drafted an OL in the 5th round. LOL

They could have passed on DT Mazi Smith and gotten OG Steve Avila with a slight trade back in the 1st round and acquired an additional 4th; they could have also passed on Grandpa Schoonmaker and drafted OG O'Cyrus Torrence....but from what the draft experts and football wise in here said they didn't like either player because they weren't the mobile type OL they like....while they are road graders and have shown well so far for their respective teams (Rams and Bills) Dallas clearly were happy with 'their' guys.

So, they go with an oft-injured Tyron Smith at LT, kicked promising LT Tyler Smith inside to LG, have Biadasz at C (the same guy many said sucked last season), All Pro Martin at RG, and Steele ar RT who is coming back from a torn ACL.
Heaven help them if Martin goes out with injury for a prolonged period as that would spell disaster (furthermore when, not if, Tyron Smith gets injured).....then again, at least this will be the primary excuse for those set on defending Dak's play.

Depends on starter and for how long

Richards has shown ability to pinch hit at LT, I think he still needs work at LG.

I think Bass can be serviceable between Steele and Bidasz for a short period.

Farniak could handle center in a pinch.

If 2 or more go down, we are in trouble, especially on right side.

Can you change the title of your thread to read "When our starters begin to miss games." It's not a matter of if, it's a matter of when and we will deal with as we have in the past...ie. we won't. Prove me otherwise? lol

Watch the tape for yourself. Josh Ball's been solid at RG. He's a road grater on runs. And his only bad play on pass plays was on a stunt that was more a consequence of bad communication with whoever was the RT. (Been a lot of lazy analysis/commentary where that player is concerned.) Have no concerns there.

And Farniok will be fine. He's already tested.

Beyond that, yes, there are some reasons for concern.

OL is my only major concern. This offense will struggle to be consistent against good defenses because of the lack of quality depth. There is zero chance tyron plays 17 games. Possible steel isn't 100% even if he starts game 1. No clear starter at guard once Tyler gets moved to tackle. No depth behind center.

Ugh. I'll never understand why his name keeps coming up.
Perhaps because you and others say Dallas' back-ups are crap (in defending Deuce of course) and because Dallas' starting LT is injury-plagued, the starting C is mediocre, and the starting RT is coming back from an ACL tear....I mean, isn't the starting OL the excuse for Dak's play last season?

We’ve overcame these things before. It’s something every team deals with.

We will win or go home in the post season based on how Dak performs on the road.

That’s it.

All this other stuff is meaningless.

I heard worse last season. When Tyron went down last season, most of the board thought the offensive line was terrible. I remember you chicken littles thought we had one offensive lineman and that was Martin. We lost Steele and Tyron for most of the season and offensive line was fine.

I have to agree with the forum here regarding the o-line. Seriously where in the F did these 2nd or 3rd string guys come from? Watch the game tape DC nation, this is going to be the Achilles heal for this team if someone gets hurt. These MFs are collecting a paycheck.? DAM. Please dump all these (2-3) players and search the wavier wire....its that bad folks. I'm feeling like DC got robbed with this group. I would rather them come up to me and smack me down for their paycheck. This group is definitely a black eye on an impressive team going into the season. Much love for Overshown.... hang in there brother. No way the o-line cast offs can be nearly as bad as what they are putting on the field right now.

Do you guys know that all five of our backups played en masse against the Seahawks starting Dline for much of the first half. The only one that looked completely outmatched was Waletzko. The rest looked solid.
Richards looked very solid and received no help, which he most certainly would if Smith goes down. Bass looked good. Forniak and even Ball looked ok.
NO team in the NFL has several veteran backup Olinemen. They just don't exist. I actually feel ok about our Oline.

This team has so much talent but the blind misguided faith in brittle Tyron is going to bite them in the butt

You have time to start one more doom and gloom thread before the night is over with. Knock yourself out.
