Why are we fighting for our lives at the end of every game that we have played this year? Our young d-line studs and linebackers were supposed to rotate and keep everyone fresh. Our secondary was supposed to be phenomenal with the addition of Henry....so howcome we are getting scored on left and right? Especially be Washington and San Fran for gods sake. What's going to happen when we play a really good offense. I love our cowboys and am truly excited about our players, but something is wrong with our D and i am scared. :( :bang2: :(

Yes something is wrong with our D. And that something is Mike Zimmer. Get a real DC in here and we will have a very dangerous Defense.

I am not only not worried about the defense , but excited about it.
The talent is there . The work ethic there. The smarts there.
All thats left is the experience for the Cowboys to have a dominany defense.

As others have stated young players.
New scheme.
Position changes.

Parcells seems very upbeat during his PCs and I think he is upbeat because he knows that he is sitting on a gold mine.

I just think if we can hang in there til the half way mark we will go on a 2nd half tear.
you know what they say after 10 NFL games there arent any more rookies.

Go listen to Monday's press conference and hear Bill Parcells explain exactly how we play cover 4. He was explaining how Keith Davis SHOULD have given deep help on Brandon Lloyd's 89-yard TD catch against Henry. At the same time, his explanation also illustrates why Roy wasn't responsible for giving deep help on Moss' touchdowns.

If you understand how we play cover 4, you'll realize exactly why Roy CANNOT be blamed for the two touchdowns by Moss. As Parcells explained, "It wasn't really his play."

Perhaps it can be reposted.

Davis is the problem not Zimmer.

The three of our pass TDs against are his fault and that is like 200 passing yards and 3 TDs.

Zimmer's scheme is producing turnovers and sacks BTW.

I hear you, and I believe you....I know Parcells argued it that way, and on Lloyd's pass, we were in the same coverage as the two passes in the Skins game but to Davis's side. In the Skins game, who was providing the deep help for Glenn? Certainly not Davis, since he was on the other side of the field beside Roy, right?

Certainly we weren't stupid enough to be in a defense at those two points in the game where Glenn was on the fastest guy on the team all alone? It looked to be like both corners were between the hash marks and sidelines, about 8 yards deep....both safeties were just outside the hash marks about 10-12 yards deep, with Roy on the side that Glenn was on....surely, Davis wasn't providing the deep help for Glenn from the other side of the field?

I've heard the explanations, and while you are absolutely correct in how Parcells put it, It sure doesn't add up to me...I must be slow.

It depends on formation and if I remember there was a slot receiver on Roy's side. He started a crossing pattern that Davis bit on letting the WR get behind him. I cant be sure but Ill trust Parcells to know what the coverage was supposed to be. He was on Davis all three times.

Here's the equation for you mathematically challenged...

Slow Anthony Henry + Slow Aaron Glenn + Slow and horrible in coverage Roy Williams + bad, uncreative coaching = vulnerable to the long ball

Let's see...that equals...7+7+7+7, good for 28 a game = NOT GOOD :bang2:
I think they will improve as the year progresses and by mid season or so, teams will realize this will be a great defense. It takes time, too many changes to be great right away. No one ever really said we have a great defense other than on this board.

really in the two games we won, were we were fighting our lives out, in the fourth quarter, you know the quarter where we lost every game we played last year, we have given up ZERO points and recorded THREE INT's, so i think our D is just fine.
