If our first two picks are...

No, I am right on both counts, I watched every game last year. Those were the two biggest weaknesses by far and still are. Your picks dont move the needle at all. Defenses are built front to back, not vice versa. Even the best DBs can only cover for 2.5 seconds, so taking another DB at 4 makes no sense to me, particularly one who doesnt cause turn overs and isnt and a shut down corner.

The problem, and some of the fun, is we don't know how ANY of these guys will pan out. That's why I leave it up to the NFL scouts to decide who is worth the pick and who isn't. So far, they've been nails when it comes to our O-Line (next year I anticipate 4 Pro bowlers), I just wish they could be just as good at selecting Defensive Line. If they go Bosa and Lynch with the first two picks, I'll trust that they made the right decisions.

I could think of worse, but we'd lose out on DL if we bypass it in the 2nd round.

I'm not sure Henry is going to play past 30 in this league with his style. Not saying he's a bad player, but you can only take so much punishment.

I'd much rather us take Dixon in the 3rd.

Ramsey and Henry. Would you call the draft a success at that point or do we still need to get a stud DT/DE to make it a success?

IMO, If we get those two with the 1st and 2nd round picks, I'm elated and excited for next season and the future.

Thoughts?

Yes. With all the DT/DE talent in this draft, you simply can't walk away without one, ESPECIALLY when it's the Cowboys biggest need with three of its pass rushers either no longer with the team (assumption on Hardy not returning) or serving suspensions (Gregory, Lawrence).

I'd be ok with that. I want Ramsey but I think someone can fall to us in round two over Henry

As a couple of posters above have said the 2nd round is the sweet spot
at the defensive line. I'd go for Ramsey he's a hell of a player and maybe the best defensive player
in this years draft. I like Henry but we need to cure our defensive blues. I'd take a RB and QB later
now that my hearts been broken.Maybe we can find a RB in the 3rd or 4th.

Also I wouldn't mind taking Zeek @4 and Noah at 34

Hate it
Ramsey will be a good safety or CB but never a great one
He is a great athlete but a DB that can't make picks is not worthy of a top 5 pick

I don't see Henry having much success in the NFL. He doesn't have the quickness or elusiveness, and he doesn't get up to speed quickly. In the NFL, you'd better be able to make defenders miss or have elite speed.

There's some sports science video on Henry about how he has some of the best acceleration they've ever tested... just saying

Yes I would consider that a huge success. My two favorite scenarios so far are Elliott/Joseph and Ramsey/Henry. Not really sure why people are so down on Henry. He has the speed of a great RB and the size/power of a linebacker. 2,200+ rushing yards, 28 TDs, Heisman winner.... Unless he's running blindfolded there's really no way he wouldn't have success behind our o-line.

Trade back 4-5 spots picking up an additional 2nd. Hopefully get Zek in the 1st, DE Dodd or Spence and DT Billings or Rankin.....that would be great.

In order to make this draft a success we need a DE, DT, CB in the top 3 rounds. Not ness in that order. If they think Ramsey is a CB then perhaps CB,DE,DT or perhaps DE,CB,DT.
