All championships won since the cap and FA are cheaper then those won before. Play is not as good; and the quality of the teams are not all that.
The edge needed to win it all is MUCH LESS THEN BACK THEN. So virtually anyone can do it. AND the pats have been VERY LUCKY.
Only those with shallow perception would fawn over this.

I would show you shallow wearing 4 SB rings on one hand and allowing the ladies to fawn over me :)

well I feel sorry for those that are not old enough to remember when there were great teams. Not the sorry excuses for great teams they claim as such now.

I totally agree man. Unfortunately this is our NFL now.

Like T-New41 said the Cowboy SB teams would rip todays teams a new one.

Yep. The Pats have lost a ton of players but they keep filling the voids with solid FA aquisitions drafting etc. Very impressive in this day in age. They have to win 1 more though or this is not even a story.

I just can't see Chicago beating NE.

If the Pats stuff the run, I don't think Grossman can beat them.

The only hope Chicago has is to force 3-4 turnovers against the Pats. But how likely is that?

On another side note, how dejected will BP be if BB wins yet another Super Bowl?

To win in this day in age takes a whole lot more then it did back then because of the cap. Back in those days you kept players now they bounce all over. To rotate people like that, draft, and coach under those circumstances is pretty impressive.

It is true it's tough to keep a team together long enough to win 3 or 4 SB's. On the other hand the league is so much weaker now days and these teams aren't even close to the caliber of the top teams in the '70's-late 90's.

Not only would the SB champion in most of those years demolish these Pats teams, but most of the SB runner ups and even many of the playoff losers would in decades past could manhandle the top teams today.

Heck in '92/'93 the Cowboys, Bills, 49er and probably even the Packers, Eagles and a couple of others would mop the floor with Brady's Patriots or last years Steelers or the '02 Bucs, etc.

But in terms of keeping a team together, then it is tougher now days.

Jeez. They haven't even won their 4th yet and people are already trying to denigrate the accomplishment. Pathetic.

Man that was awesome!!!!

I was so happy to be wrong.

At 21-3, I thought it was going to be a blowout.

I'm still amazed the Colts found a way to win.

I am too. It looked like a Brady and Pats runaway. A really good game. I enjoyed watching it.

I sure wish we were facing them in a SB V and week 11 rematch.

I can't root for the Bears.
