I like Peyton a lot but I don't want to be the team who went out and got a QB on the downhill side of his career. KC did it with Montana that did not work out so great. SD did it with Unitas did not work out so great. It is not a knock on Peyton but I want Dallas moving forward not going backwards.

I know everyone wants a SB but this is not the right way to go about it.

The Raiders gave up two firsts for a beat up question mark in Carson Palmer. The 2013 first rounder only became a second rounder because they missed the playoffs.

A team in desperate need of a quarterback would most definitely give up two firsts for Romo, the fourth ranked QB in the league. Washington comes to mind, Shanahan loves Romo, as does Seattle, Cleveland, Miami, and Denver.

Well Mike, if you are right, and you could guarantee 3 healthy years from Manning, then yes, I would pull the trigger on two #1's and a healthy Manning.

Actually, the Kansas City move DID work out in my opinion. Montana led them further into the playoffs than they had been in a while.

Actually, the Kansas City move DID work out in my opinion. Montana led them further into the playoffs than they had been in a while.

Out of 2 seasons there they went 11-5 the following season 9-7. It was not a complete failure but the following year with Bono they go 13-3.

Again I like Peyton but I'm not interested in a 35 year old coming off 3 neck surgerys. I tend to look at long term over short term.

If Manning does choose to play and the Colts let him go who ever goes out to get him will have to pay big money because Peyton is not going to go cheap and that team runs the risk of not knowing how long Manning can go. To me not a risk I would be willing to make

It depends on how much I could get for Romo in a trade. If I can get 2 firsts or a similar package, I'd do it. The team has so many holes that they won't win anything as currently constructed.

Not that Romo is not one of the top ten QBs in the league, but really ???

If I could get 3 healthy years out of Payton, I'd pick him up in a heartbeat. This team would improve by leaps and bounds...imagine having a guy who is that solid out there, that experienced, that talented and smart, a guy who actually knows how to win.

Colts were 14-2 in in 09. 10-6 in 2010 and 2-14 in 2011..I he's healthy and I mean if he's healthy. Peyton made the the whole team better.. U cant say Indy has more talent than Dallas.

I can "assume" he is healthy, but I will not take the same leap that he will be healthy week #2 of the 2012 season much less week #1 of year 2014.

I have absolutely no interest in player that will be 36 years old when the season starts and coming off a year that he did not play...even if "pronounced" healthy.

Peyton is going to come out and tear it up in 2012. He is going to take a average or below average team and put them in the playoffs. Just my guess. I'm assuming the Cardinals.
