Yes to the first 3 plus our Draft picks.

Miami decided to keep Taylor.

The cap room is updated in the Daily Zone.

Why ask specifically for serious posters? Thats just asking for trouble.

Why the interest in Taylor? Hes obviously a great player, but when Ellis decides to retire(or when he decides to get released) we have Spencer waiting in the wings

PS, for the 1000th time, signing Hamlin longterm will actually INCREASE our cap space in '08. Canty's cap hit would remain about the same. So yeah, it wouldn't be a problem at all getting all of the first 3 signed.

Ask a serious question and you'll get serious answers. Taylor isn't going anywhere, so the question doesn't have a leg to stand on anymore.

you can't ask for serious posters in a post having anything to do with jason taylor being a cowboy. that's just a party foul man.

for now...

I still think there's an outside shot he ends up in Dallas before the start of the season. Let's face it...Marcus Spears is not an impact player and can be replaced. He rides the bench for two more years and moves on. Taylor wants a Super Bowl before he retires. Why (except for money) would he want to continue to play for Miami for the next two years?

I think Parcells is only posturing by saying that he wants Taylor in Miami simply to keep his leverage in a trade. Taylor would restructure his contract to come to Dallas. And let's face it - if he wants a Super Bowl before he retires, Dallas is about as good an option as any other team, perhaps the best.

If we could get Williams, I would be fine with letting Hamlin go and just re-signing Canty.
Hamlin played good for us, but not worth breaking the bank over.

Marcus Spears and Jason Taylor do not play the same position.

:hammer:

Parcells is just trying to optimize his trade value.......once BP develops a negative impression of a player, it is only a matter of time before that player is gone

Could we sign all of them, sure we could. Hamlin will actually lower the cap dollars for this year and Canty's contract will be similar to Ratliff's.

If we traded for Roy Williams and redid his contract, it would probably be the hardest hit but remember if we do trade for him then we probably release Glenn which would add cap dollars.

On Jason Taylor, seriously doubt we would even make a play there. Why, we aren't giving up a draft pick that Miami would take for a one year player even if he redid his contract. Plus we have Ware, Ellis, Spencer, Walden, and a couple of others. Walden has been looking good in OTAs and will probably make an impact on special teams this year. Question, is Taylor going to help us that much especially with Spencer, Ware and Ellis. Not sure about that. Plus the money would be high although we could fit it in.

Taylor would have to re-do his contract, which I read he would, but would still probably cost at least $5M. We would have to cut or trade Ellis to save his salary, around $3.5M I think. It might only be worth it if we could talk Taylor into playing more than just 2008 because they want a high draft pick. A Spencer/Ellis platoon can be pretty strong.

As stated above, Hamlin and Canty deals would save space this year and Roy ain't coming.

Well, you think wrong...I just got back from September 17th and I can tell you that he was surely not a Dallas Cowboy. I can not divulge anymore as that would put me at risk of violating my time travel contract with doc Brown (I may in fact have already said too much, but it needed to be said).

Perhaps you haven't quite gotten off your time machine...
