this is something the owners have to do themselves. They could cap each position in terms of % of cap.
Then it is up to them to stick to it.
As it is Mahomes is all set to get 1/4 of the cap in yearly salary lol. Which is 25 %.
Are the chiefs stupid enough to pay that? and what is the alternatives. Other teams probably would pay 25 % to get mahomes thinking
he could lead them to a SB.

Your book seems arbitrary. If an employee is raking in big bucks for his/her employer, why should they be capped? Because you and I will never see that kind of money?

The owners/producers are making bank off the work of the performers. I can't see any reason other than jealousy to have a gripe with the performers' cut.

No cap. Pay him or don't pay him. It's really not more complicated than that.

You need a really good QB to compete? Yeah, probably. Paying him a ridiculous amount of money can counter that, of course, yes. Then don't pay him. Someone else will.

Keep in mind that we are fans, and as fans we only think about winning. Owners think about money. If a superstar QB gets fans in the seats and increases their revenue, who cares if they win championships or not? That's the owners mindset.

I agree, maybe a cap like NBAs Supermax with a hometown advantage
