CowboysZone LOYAL Fan
For some of us older fans, Ken Norton was a HUGE Cowboy fan and raised his son going to training camp. We drafted his son and dealt with several years of injuries. As soon as he got good he bolted... and talked a LOT of crap...

No thank you...
I remember him leaving. Ya I hated him for it but we weren't going match his offer. That was also 20 years ago

I'd prefer Rod to stay, but if he wants to leave then let him.
I think there are other options, and resigning Garrett/Linehan is more important. IMO

I think the position is for Eberflus.

Eberflus did a fantastic job this year. If all of our linebackers were to return next year and were healthy, we'd have the best LB corp in the NFL (Lee, Durant, McClain, Carter and Hitchens).

Durant played the best football of his career. So did McClain. Carter turned it around tremendously and it's hard to not be impressed with Hitchens...a 4th round rookie.

Not giving Eberflus the job sends the wrong message to the coaching staff and you have a coach that knows each player, each coach and the division. I wouldn't hate Norton, Jr. or Jim Schwartz, but I prefer promoting from within when a guy deserves to be promoted. So unless Eberflus is not ready, it should be his job for the taking.

Everybody runs a hybrid defense anyway. I wouldn't be upset with a so-called 3-4 guy getting the keys to this defense if he's qualified.

Isn't Eberflus a 3-4 coach?? He will be nothing like Marinelli. I still wouldn't doubt Jerry changing Rods mind.

He is well versed in both schemes. He was around Rob Ryan a while and now Kiffin and Rod. That's why I think he'd be perfect.

I'm not sure anybody is beating down his door. I heard a blip on the radio, Dick Jauron. Don't know what to think, but I'll take Rod and his 34 TO's every year!
