It's amazing what one solid game will do for a guys career.

Two weeks ago I would have predicted Parcells to leave after this season. I imagine this would still be the case if you guys had gone on to lose @ Carolina. But now he actually sounds like he's having fun again. He doesn't have that same mad look of despair in his eyes. I'd almost go so far as to say he has a bit of swagger now and I'd be very surprised if he didn't stay at least one more year. He built your defense and I'm sure he'll want to ride Romo for at least a full season.

Now I think it'll be Gibbs who hangs it up after this season. Especially if we continue sucking, which is very likely.

Don't worry Illone, after this Sunday you are going to be a huge Parcells HOMER.

The reason I bring this up is because I believe he hand picked Pennington with the Jets. I feel that he left before Pennington could get what he needed from him.

Completely different situation.

Bill had already stepped down as HC when he drafted Penny in April 2000 in his final year as Jets GM. He had appointed Al Groh his successor. He said he drafted Chad for the 'future'....it was expected that Vinny had a few more years in him.

With the Pennington pick , Bill was trying to insure the Jets future at QB..he knew he would never be coaching him himself.
