Rush is a solid backup quarterback I don't think hes gonna lead your team forever, they will find his flaws and and you'll have to adjust.
That said dak is done in the NFL ther're certain passes he just cannot throw.
one of them is just an out, where as soon as they showed it to rush he jumped on it.
Rush is a solid backup, who may be able to drive to the big dance, but we have to draft "the guy"
.
I like dak.
I had his Jersey as my avatar for 2 years but his flaws have been discovered and sadly his time in the NFL is over.

It's disappointing seeing so many "fans" seem almost bitter that we won yesterday.

Any thread that even suggest that Cooper Rush might be a decent QB has the same ole few coming in trying to rain on the parade.

If Cooper Rush got all of the 1st team reps and attention that Dak got would he have a similar impact on a football game that Dak has and if so would he be much cheaper allowing us to put a better team on the field around him?

Of course Dak is better but if Rush had the same opportunities as Dak is the gap between them so narrow that it doesn’t make a difference between the two?

Keep in mind that Dak has 1 playoff win as a starter and he has done a lot of stat padding on weak teams.
If Dak is better than how is the impact similar? This is another one of your laughable takes that means nothing.

Remember when Dak got an extremely rare opportunity to take over as starter when Romo was out a season?

This is nothing like that.
If you recall, Romo wasn't actually out for the season. He was cleared to return well before the end of the season.

Exactly what “impact” has Dak had?

To me it's value.
Is Dak worth 39mill a year more?
That 39m could add a lot of talent, assuming they would actually spend it.
Both QBs are just bus drivers in my opinion.
Neither is a long-term solution

Yes. Dak is what he's been since 2017, just an average QB that can EASILY be replaced by someone making 10x less than him. If he played in any town other than Dallas (where people think anyone who wears a Star hung the moon), he'd be a journeyman QB.

I really don't believe Rush would deliver as the FT starter. Dak has shown the ability to take a game over, albeit it has been a while. I would ride with Dak when healthy. Dak provides the best chance to win.

To answer the question, no...

Teams will eventually figure out a way to beat him.

But I have to say, he's a damn good bus driver. Understands the bus-driver concept. That's all I freaking want.

Control the game, and let the defense do its thing.

Lets see if KM can call a few more games like yesterday. It wasnt all rush bring improv out there. The playcalling was good a d they were able to execute. In the 2nd half did cinci have them figured out or was km back to being conservative exluding the final drive?

Finally, someone who gets it.

Good post.

One can smell the toxic levels of desperation around here.

It's pathetic.

I think that we can safely conclude, after Rush’s two starts that Rush’s ceiling is higher than Dak’s floor. I’m not sure how anyone can deny that at this point. Rush played better in those two starts than Dak has played in some games.

Is that a credit to Rush, or an indictment of Dak? I’ll let you guys decide that one for yourself. I’m still pondering that one.

Another question I have, but no definitive answer to is: Are the Bengals a really good, super bowl quality team, or a flash in the pan that took its shot and has now fallen back into mediocrity? I’d like to think the former. If so, we have a legitimate defense on our hands in Dallas again.

lets not get ahead of ourselves here. there is a lot to be desired with rush. he has had couple of NFL games and is a novelty much like Dak was when he played his first year. give DCs a few game tapes and they start to figure it out. there is a reason Rush is a back up and when he got released, nobody picked him up. to tell me 31 other teams are wrong about rush, after 4 years?

Rush doesn't have some of the intangibles that Dak has like arm strength and theoretically the ability to make plays with his legs.
But he seems to be a more decisive player and a more accurate thrower with the plays he is comfortable with.

Cooper Rush makes just under a million dollars a year DAk makes 40 million.

Some talent can be had in free agency for 39 million.

Not sure it would be enough to be able to get to a super bowl but I'm sure we could make the playoffs and go one and done

Great point about Rush being more decisive.

Cooper Rush has his abilities . He’s very good at the intermediate pass. If he can improve his deep ball accuracy. That will go a long way. He’s definitely grown

I think it’s quite possibly that Rush is just better for this offense. That’s not downgrading Dak, it’s just this isn’t his game (drop back throw 35 times in the pocket). He would be well suited for Shanny’s offense and others IMO.

Rush is trash, but so is Dak

neither are a long-term answer for this team
Boom. Exactly. (I dont think Dak is trash but its time to look into the future) The long term answer would be drafting or trading for a top pick.

However. The OP of this thread also said he didnt want Parsons and it was a horrible pick.....so his opinions should be taken with a large grain of salt.
