If Shotty is as good as his dad

Good? Marty was 5 - 13 in the playoffs, never made it to a Super Bowl.
...that's not to say, Shotty will be driving same truck. I'm sure he's learned whole new bag of tricks.

Football has changed much from those days. Nonetheless, Marty was heck of good coach.

Just didnt catch the breaks in playoffs. Sometimes life is like that.

This would make sense if there wasn’t a bunch of Romo/Dak supporters.

If they will support those losers at QB then they will support a loser HC.

They may not be “happy”, but they will blindly support what Jerry tells them to.
Say what you will but it hasn’t been the QBs. They’ve been plenty good enough or they wouldn’t have held onto their jobs for a decade. It’s been the teams, coaching and management that’s been holding the Cowboys back. No one is blindly supporting what Jerry tells them to. No one gets more criticism than him. His mismanagement is the reason the franchise has been stuck in the mud the past 30 years.

Cowboys fans bar is incredibly low these days.

I remember when the bar was the Super Bowl.

Now it’s pretty stats and regular season success.
If that was true you wouldn’t be seeing so much doom and gloom every year on this board.

I follow AC Milan. They were about to make a very bad coaching hire, you know what happened? The fans protested in Italy outside of the gates of the head office.

Coach wasnt hired. They went online and looked and saw how bad it was and didnt want to upset the fan base.
It's funny. For years, even stretching back before 2004 and my days here, I would occasionally post how some fans could (at least) collectively attempt a visual disapproval of Jones' nonsense--both outside and inside the stadium but no. Such tactics (emotionally directed tactics at that) would not yield any tangible results. Seemingly, that particular type of tactic did, in fact, influence the ownership of a professional soccer franchise.

Amazing how billboards fail and way less expensive and easily organized efforts succeed. Oh well...

They wouldn’t have held onto their jobs in any other organization in the NFL.

That’s the point.

Romo and Dak are just like Jason Garrett.

Blessed to be in an organization that is terrified of change, doesn’t have a GM working for his job, and support of a blind fanbase that lives off past glories.
You’re completely lost if you honestly believe that. What teams are moving on from QBs that are winning double digit games practically every season and winning division titles? What teams are moving on from QBs that have career passer ratings pushing 100.0 and have a high winning percentage? Try talking some sense for once.

There’s not enough of it.

Anyone that isn’t overly optimistic is an “Eagles fan” around these parts.
There’s plenty of doom and gloom here, but that’s all there is with you. Even when the Cowboys win you’re on here bellyaching. Actually, I take that back, you don’t even show up when the Cowboys win.

Romo won double digit games 3 times in 10 years starting.

Daks done it 4 times in 9 years.

This is the exactly “blindness” I’m talking about.
In three of the seasons Dak didn’t win double digit games he was injured for a number of games. If you’re looking to argue about him, find someone else. He’s the only reason you post on this board.

He only started 10 games in 06 and he missed a number of games in two other seasons. You’re completely blind if you don’t think Romo and Dak were good QBs. I guess you think Jalen Hurts is great because he won a Super Bowl with a great team? Do you think he could lead the Cowboys to a championship? Lol

You flat out lied about them though lol

You said they won double digit games in practically every season when neither has even done it 50% of the time.

The way you “fan” is part of the problem with the Dallas Cowboys.

Practically every year they started a full 16 or 17 game season they led the team to double digit wins. I never said they did it every season. :thumbup:The way you fan is embarrassing! All you do is come here looking for reactions.

Using being injury prone as an excuse is a weird flex.

Shotty could have made it to the Super Bowl imo but benched Rich Gannon who got them there cause Grbac came back from injury.

Injuries are part of the game, especially when you have QBs that have to throw all the time to win games because they don’t have a consistent running game and their defense can’t stop anyone.

It will not be good enough with a 5-13 playoff record. Marty was 0-3 in Championship games. Two of his Cleveland teams choked with the games on the line. He couldn’t even reach the Super Bowl with Joe Montana as his QB. Not saying Marty wasn’t a great HC, but his teams had the same problems in the playoffs we’ve been having the past 30 years. Reaching title games only to come up short isn’t going to make up for the past 30 years. Coming up short has been the Cowboys biggest problem.
Marty was one of the great defense oriented HCs from the 80-90s era. Unfortunately his teams came up a hair short in those 2 AFCC games in soul-crushing fashion. "The Drive" in 86 and then "The Fumble" in 87. It's unfortunate, but those two losses are likely the first things that come to mind when looking back at his coaching career. But overall, a great HC.
