The only way I'm on board with trading up to get Peterson is if we have Logan Mankins on the roster by draft day. The offensive line is too big a hole to spend a pick on a player that we really don't necessarily need right away.

But getting Peterson basically solves your defense. Newman to FS like R. Woodson toward the end of his career, which creates a stopgap for us until we're able to find ourselves a new FS (this is a weak DB draft outside of Peterson) and Peterson immediately starts, which will basically eliminate 1/2 of the field.

I still think we should take a look at Champ Bailey if he's let go by Denver too. Dude is still a baller stuck on a crappy team, and would force Jenkins to not eat the cheese.

Or see if Uncle Al wants a couple of our guys in return for Nnamdi.

I doubt it will happen, but Peterson may drop to 10.

I'm not sure on the other team's needs right now, but QBs are always overdrafted.

There are 11 possibilities for the top nine spots. Plus, you never know what darkhorse will come out of nowhere to be a high pick (see: Ware, DeMarcus).

There will be high expectations for Peterson. What if he doesn't run a 4.3 or a 4.4? What if scouts look at his 210 pound frame and question his ability to play CB?

So many variables at draft time. We should get a good player regardless.

I'll go out on a limb and say by draft day atleast one O-lineman will be picked in the top 10. I think almost every year a offensive lineman gets picked in the top 10. Its one of the reasons why the teams are picking that high...either no QB or offensive line suck.
