This is a bad idea.

If Terrell Owens were cut today, I believe you do absolutely nothing to the Receiving Core.

The Wide Receivers would be perfect because you would have your Playmaker in Roy Williams (assuming this year was an anamoly) and your grunts like Patrick Crayton and Miles Austin.

Also, that is not even mentioning Martellus Bennett and Jason Witten.

It would be a huge mistake to acquire more receivers.

I wouldn't make R Williams my #1 WR just yet. I got to see if Roy can stay healthy first.

That's why (to me) signing TJ or by some miracle A. Bouldin would be great.

Then sign a Devery Henderson type WR too.

I would do this if T.O. was no longer in my plans, but I would get these types of WR's first.

Miles made huge strides, but he also had all of 13 catches this year. Which I guess is better than the 5 he made last year. I like where he's headed, but I'm not ready to bank the world on a guy that has 18 catches in 3 years.

He had 18 catches because he was far from the focalpoint, without TO he would see the ball alot more. I think he's more then capable.

If they let Owens go, it may have a little to do with their thinking on what Austin can do in the league. If TO stays, Austin becomes more of a luxury than a necessity. If TO goes, he would most likely get to battle Crayton for the number 2 spot. A healthy Austin has a ton of potential and I would love to see what he can do.

I agree... wouldn't Austin be our speed WR?

Agreed. We should become a run first, defensive team. That is what will win.

And that's why Jerry probably won't cut TO this year.

Both Roy and Miles have history of injuries. RW11 has only started all 16 games one season. So what happens if both RW11 and Miles Austin get hurt? You are left with a receiving corp of Patrick Crayton, Sam Hurd, and Jason Witten. Not good unless we want a high draft pick in 2010.

My guess is Owens is back next year. That helps alleviate the dead money of him being on the cap and it allows Dallas a year to find his replacement (or a #2 guy if RW11 is going to be "the guy").

You can say this for just about every team in the league.

As others have pointed out. I don't see Jerry bringing any big name WR in here if he releases TO.

First off he is losing out the money he has to pay TO. People say that is not a big deal but that is good amount of money you are paying for NOTHING. I say nothing because he is gone.

Secondly they are more than likely getting ready to play Demarcus Ware the biggest contract they have ever done and one that also will probably be the biggest contract for a defensive player in the NFL.

They also have to set aside money for the Draft picks and any other FAs they might want to bring in for depth or FAs currently on the team.

Also add into the idea that they just paid a good amount of money to Roy Williams (WR) when they brought him in and who knows they might cut the other Roy Williams (SS) and that could be extra dead money spent.

Just don't see a way we bring in another high priced WR at this time. And you can bet your bottom dollar that TJH would want a big contract.

I agree, I can't trust Miles either. They might cut him.

That's why I feel T.O. is not getting cut.

Miles has a severe case of Fumblitis.... He can't be trusted.

Your right he can't, That's I feel a Devery Henderson (or some no-name TRUE speed WR) would be more reliable than Austin at this time.

After watching Miles return kickoffs in 06' and fumbling like 4 times in only 7 games. I lost all faith in him. Sure you might be enamoured with some athleticism but the only person that scares me more with the ball in his hand is Romo and Crayton.

Crayton thinks he is Deion when he holds the ball but forgets he has 4.69 speed. Romo is just careless. And Miles doesnt hold the ball tight to his body.

I like his size and his potential , but just like our QB... He will make some plays the turn the game over.

I feel what your saying about Crayton, when I see crayton hold the ball the way he does I hold my breath. With that said, I see Crayton as one of the more reliable WR's on this team.

As far as Romo goes, he needs to put his Farve-like game in a luggage, lock it up, and put it in the ocean.

His post game comments were one the most depressing things i've heard after a 44-6 loss.

Agreed. Especially if we're going to be a running team next year.
