...or do they let Austin, Stanback and Crayton battle for the #2 spot?

Stanback shouldn't even be mentioned in the "battling for #2" sentence.

And oh yeah, TO isn't leaving.

This is a bad idea.

If Terrell Owens were cut today, I believe you do absolutely nothing to the Receiving Core.

The Wide Receivers would be perfect because you would have your Playmaker in Roy Williams (assuming this year was an anamoly) and your grunts like Patrick Crayton and Miles Austin.

Also, that is not even mentioning Martellus Bennett and Jason Witten.

It would be a huge mistake to acquire more receivers.

Good Lord no!!!!

The last thing we need is to start signing Bengals.

We might as well just keep TO in that case.

Knowing Jerry, he'd go after Chad Johnson.

:bang2: :bang2: :bang2: :bang2: :bang2: :bang2: :bang2: Because you are right!

I'd love to have TJ here but I don't think we would have the cap room, especially if we let Owens walk but that's OK.

Cut Terrell and see what we have in our guys. See who we can pickup in FA and the draft.

I'd like to see us focus on the running game next season anyway so we don't need two big name WRs.

only if there is a stipulation in his contract that makes it mandatory that he remove that idiotic pony tail

I think we will be a more run oriented team next year. If we cut T.O.

Agreed. Let's also add Felix Jones to that mix.

is released, the Cowboys will have very little money to bring in a player like whosyourmama.. and they won't need to anyways.

Run oriented???

With Tecmo coming back???

I doubt it...........Tecmo only likes to run out of shotgun.

If T.O. goes (which he's not) then I don't think you'd see them spend much on another WR. They'd probably just put Crayton back at #2 and Austin at #3 and draft someone or get an older vet FA to come in and play #2. I don't think we'll see this team splurge again for a while, at least not if they are serious about changing the attitude around here instead of just signing whoever they want like the Commanders.

I agree but I think Austin is more then a grunt. He has size, speed, and big play ability. He's our no. 2 for sure, he needs to stay healthy tho. The kid has game...

The only reason I ask is because Housh is a solid route runner, tough, good character and very reliable. They could do worse than signing him, but definately would understand the case for bringing in no one. Austin should blossom next year.

Miles made huge strides, but he also had all of 13 catches this year. Which I guess is better than the 5 he made last year. I like where he's headed, but I'm not ready to bank the world on a guy that has 18 catches in 3 years.

Didnt Crayton totally blow as a #2 receiver???

Wasnt that the reason to trade for Roy11, because Crayton totally sucked at being the #2 guy opposite TO???

So how does Crayton now become the new #2 opposite Roy11 when he totally sucked as the #2 across from TO???

Dont tell me we traded a 1,3,6 for nothing:mad:

Good morning I don't think crayton is that good of a receiver if we are going to get rid of someone I think it should be him and stanback. First of all crayton missed two key catches last year in the playoff game and stanback can't stay healthy enough to play a season. I say put RW11 on one side and Austin on the other side then move TO sow he can run the slant routes where he is more prone to catch the ball and pick up major yards

I don't know if I'd say he sucked, he was just average.

Romo has yet to get a 3rd receiver behind T.O. and Witten really involved, either by his own judgment or by the scheme, so it's tough to say what would happen.

I don't think Romo has great field vision as it is, he rarely gets beyond his 2nd read, often because he has no time to.

Good point and if T.O does go and the Boys do nothing to address the position further we will know they must think highly of him...if not than we should assume they aren't sure themselves.
