How much is he being paid as DC for the Dallas Cowboys? Is that published? Quinn is in his early 50’s, has a tremendous amount of experience, significant success as a football coach, and has not been reluctant to move to accept a new coaching challenge at anytime in his career. Has he ever said he’d rather be a DC for the Cowboys than a head coach anywhere or is this just wishful thinking?

Not sure, but I'd imagine it's enough to keep him here. Bear in mind, there's no salary cap for coaches. So, I'm basically putting too and two together. Plus, other than maybe Seattle if that were to come open, I'm not sure that the market of teams would favour him. He would need a team with a ready made QB and a bad defence. I suppose maybe the Chargers fit that, but their weapons aren't great either. Plus, like I said, my guess is that Jim Harbaugh probably takes that one.

Lee Blair does this in every thread he creates. He says something controversial, implying that it is Dak's fault no matter what. Then he disappears from the thread entirely and deploys the "dance puppets dance " routine from the shadows.

He likes to sow discord then disappear. Please everyone stop following for it by fighting with each other.

The point is that, if you're wrong, shut up and go away. Why keep crying about it?

You, like all of the dozens of others on this board, would rather the team lose so you can be right and justify your incessant whining than see them win.
Predicting a team won’t win a title is pretty easy, but these guys act like it makes them some type of guru.

Went over my head lol. Yeah they are back they've been gone for 5 weeks lol. You see Mountaineer showed back up...

Oh look here goes another member lol. Been a quiet 5 weeks lol.
For the record, I got into with you regarding LIGHT criticism of Dak prior to Dak's PREDICTABLE collapse this weekend. I brought up that it was possible and you well...you know what you do.

If an ownership group he feels good about pursues him, and, of course, makes him a lucrative enough offer, it’s reasonable to believe he’d consider it. His reputation as a coach in the NFL is such that he knows he could attract a quality staff to join him. I have to believe Washington has him on their “short list”. Many teams will be looking for new GM’s as well. As many places as Quinn has been in the NFL one of the new GMs has probably been associated with him in the past. If he were 62 maybe he’d think different. The tendency to go with innovative offense oriented head coaches in the contemporary NFL means opportunities for him to be a head coach again may be fewer in the near future. He’ll, at the very least, earnestly consider head coaching offers. I’d beware of Philadelphia, as well. That team has plateaued early and their head coach seems unable to do anything about it. The Eagles owner & GM will move off a head coach in heartbeat without regard for past success. (see Reid, Pederson). I think Quinn grew up in that area, as well.

The league has become an offensive HC league, and typically defensive minded HC's are not succeeding. DQ did not succed first go, I honestly don't see him going anywhere, and our deficiencies in the run game could be tarnishing him. That guy on the Colts is doing a marvelous job, and most young teams in need of a HC will/have a young QB to build around and they will target this type of guy. The Iggles struggles on O are 100% in relation to Steichen leaving, so rest assured any team looking for a HC will be on the lookout for this type of guy

Dan Quinn will likely leave in the offseason for greener pastures. As much as I like McCarthy, this will leave him with Dak Prescott running the offense and a huge variable at defense.
While Dak has shown what we hope is some improvement, is he good enough to carry the Cowboys when the defense is not getting turnovers and giving the offense as much help as they have this season? We already know the answer to that. With the Cowboys certain to extend Dak's contract, their fate will be sealed.
It takes either consistent marquee coaching and/or a special collection of players having a great year at the same time to achieve success, and only by having that for more than a single year at a time can they achieve greatness.
This is it. If the Cowboys don't show a noticable improvement in crunch time and advance in the playoffs to the championship game at least, the chances of them improving next year are slim and none.
Just think, it only took you 27 years to realize that. Nothing like a fast learner.

Whats your thoughts on the offensive play calling?

It seems to be way better than previous years.

Im not for Jason Garrett style...trying to outsmart other defenses and calling a run up the middle 3 times in a row...even on 3rd and 7....but I think MM or qhomever is calling the shots is calling a decent game on when to run and when not to. Now...I dont know about the scheme and if the plays called are good enough to beat contender zone defenses....but I like the run plays we are doing. Seems like whomever is in charge of offensive play calls is calling a good game.

I agree with you. And if Roseman believes Philly was in the Super Bowl last season because of Steichen then Sirianni is half out the door now. He loses one of the next three games and Dom will likely be security for a different head coach next season.

Does seem like the window shuts or at least a larger-than-usual rebuild occurs if they don’t get it right this time. I hate to use them as an example, but look no further than the eagles. They made it all the way to a Super Bowl win and decided to rip it up a little bit and start over.

I still get traumatized any time I see a delayed draw up the middle.
