Not that it matters of course, but if the Cowboys had won their last 3 games instead of lost them, they would still be out of the playoffs right now.

They would would have been tied with the Packers (who hold the tiebreaker due to NFC record) and they would have been a half game behind the Eagles so they would have needed for the Packers or Eagles to lose one more game than they do the rest of the season in order to overtake them.

Even if that were to happen, it would have meant the Cowboys had to win their last 8 games of the season just to take advantage of it.

My reason for posting this is not to excuse today's loss or any of the last three losses but to show just how bad of a hole this team put itself in early in the season.

The truth is the Cowboys season was over weeks ago.

Not that it matters now, but I was stating that GB had to win that division for Dallas to have a decent chance. Rooting for them to lose was counterproductive.

The Cowboys didn't have to win 8 straight. They could have lost only to the Lions. The problem was, fans were counting on an Eagles collapse to go with it. That meant they had to lose today to Washington. Which they did not. Because no way are the Eagles going to lose a game at home to Washington for the division. If it came to that.

Not sure how that could have happened because I read right here that Jerry had a pretty good season not long ago.

Season was basically over after the Monday night debacle against the Cardinals. Losing a game like that heading into a bye week was killer.

Not sure GB would own the conference tie breaker if we had won the last 3 (and won out).

This is the result of the crap front office treating the first half of the season like it didn’t matter. “Oh maybe we will make moves by the trade deadline”

They didn’t even try to field a competitive team for the first week of the season.

I said 8-9 before the season. WHOOPS!
as bad as this season has been they could still win the next two because washington and the giants are just worse then the cowboys and finish 8-8-1 and still think they had a good season despite missing the playoffs again.

I've been watching 50 years of NFL now......lets not start playing 'if' scenarios.......I could list about a million 'ifs'

Eagles were looking like crap until Mariota got hurt. I think the hope was Daniels would play and then maybe Mariota. If it’s Josh Johnson they would’ve never had a chance.

This team didn’t stand a chance with this defense.

In a sense this season was over before it started

Says the guy who said we should win out 3 weeks ago yahahahaha

Maybe you should take a page out of your own book and understand that winning 6 games in a row, regardless of competition in this league is extremely difficult
