If the Cowboys have a good a good season, is it because?

I think 8-10 is more accurate unless you think we absolutely suck. Let me give you a pessimistic prediction.

NFCE
3-5

NFCN
1-3

AFCW
2-2

The Jets and Panthers. That gives us 8 wins right there. I think we'll get more, but 8 wins minimum.
You’re figuring on a good result for every team we are better than on paper.

I recall playing the winless Jets on the road in 2019 and getting beat.

I only named two teams. Every year we lose to some bum team. Every year we beat some team that was not as good as they were supposed to be. But either way, those are the types of teams we beat. We're not the team that travels to Baltimore and shocks the Ravens. But I do think there are enough average teams out there to pick up 8 wins. I just wouldn't bet on it.

On that loss to the Jets. They were an 0-4 team that got absolutely destroyed the last two weeks by Philly and the Patriots. Darnold was sacked a combined 15 times and probably hurried 400 times. They looked better than us the following week. It's a bad feeling when you know the season is over that early in the year. The earliest a season was over for us was 2002 week 1.

I made the trip to Houston for that first game.

I don’t think I was ever more humiliated as a fan when walking out of that building.

That was back when I thought the team was pretty good because I believed what I wanted to be the case vs what was real.

We all go through that as fans, when we realize there's a monster of a difference between what we want to believe and what is real.

Mine was the 09 draft, which made zero sense at the time and makes less sense now. I was more of a homer type before that, believing in what I wanted to believe in.

And the following year proved it. In the 09 season, our OL fell completely apart, mostly due to age. I mean, they were terrible down the stretch. Sooooo, in the 2010 draft, to fix it, we traded up for Dez and drafted Jamar Wall in the 6th(I think that was his name.). The 2010 debacle was directly caused by Jerry not addressing the monstrous glaring need at OL. He never saw it coming. Which is the problem, he never sees anything coming. Strictly reactive, he almost always lets an area of the team fall completely apart before even attempting a fix. Unless it's CB and WR, he's always getting more of those. Sells hope for him.

Coaching staff is key.

On defense: Matt Eberflus knows the NFC North, coming from Chicago. We got the Packers, Lions, Vikes and Bears on the schedule. Eberflus will have our Boys ready for them defensively.

On offense: Klayton Adams knows the NFC West coming from the Cardinals. We got the Cardinals on the schedule and if we see either of the 49ers, Seahawks or the Cardinals in the playoffs, Klayton will have some insights on them.

Now what I don't have a feeling for are the AFC West teams we have on the schedule. Chiefs at home and Broncos in that altitude worry me, but I think we will be good vs the Raiders and Chargers.

The NFC East is what it is. If we are healthy, I don't fear the Eagles or the Commanders tbh.

I'm predicting 11-13 wins this year. We were not that far off before the wheels fell off when Dak went down. We had a really good offseason. Optimism is off the charts for me as a Cowboys homer, but I think the Cowboys will have a really good season this year.
We were 3-5 with Dak last year. He just sucked all of last season.

A favorable schedule (yes things can change, our opponents can beat us at any moment, or we can be ourselves!). Or could it be that this team is better than it was, with the addition of new players, new coaching, new philosophies etc etc??? Please give your thoughts
I believe in offensive lines
