It will make all other free agency signings look trivial. All the mediots will chime in. Commander signing would be a fart in the wind compared to bomb a TO signing would make coming to Big D.

Sportcenter and main stream media would have a field day covering this story.

What are the implications..........We'd have the best WR in the NFC East. Out WR core would be the best in the NFC East, and if Keyshawn plays good soldier our WR would also be the most versatile.

I posted this in the rumors by Maller thread, but for the TO people:

>>>The Broncos still are interested in Eagles wide receiver Terrell Owens, who must be traded or cut by the close of business Wednesday<<<

I heard some speculation on one of the radio talk shows that the Eagles might pay Owens the bonus he is due Wednesday, and then trade him...apparently nobody wants to trade for him now because of his current contract, but if the Eagles pay the bonus then teams would theoretically be more willing to part with a mid to late rd pick for him

obviously Philly has a ton of cap room and would 1) at least get something for him and 2) he could go to Dallas

just food for thought for people that think it might be a done deal for him to come here

I'm sure many would be laughing at us as well just as many of us laughed at Philly when he signed with them because many of us knew it was a matter of time before the wheels fell off. TO problems consumed the eagles and the media helped to keep the fire going.

It will be a bomb alright. It will make our lockerroom look like Hiroshima or Nagasaki. :explode:

But it would still make me sad. :(

I would agree with you there, very sad. Probably end up destroying the team.

I'd rather spend money elsewhere.

i agree with this completely.

The Eagles have been holding on to him for no reason. it makes no sense other than they are going to pay the bonus to keep him out of the East.

This is really more of a possiblity than everyone thinks.

I find it hard to believe that teams are unwilling to trade for him because of the actual dollar amount of his bonus, vs the cap hit of bonus which they would still absorb wouldn't they?

I have this bad feeling that the reason the Cowboys aren't going crazy in FA is to save a lump of the money to blow on T.O.

I hope I'm wrong.

This would make mountains of sense. It's simple, the Eagles don't want him in their division, just in case he has changed. They will do whatever they can to make sure he goes elsewhere. certainly not Dallas. It would be a public relations nightmare and a media frenzy.

If this is the Cowboys big plan, we may be left with a lot of money, and no where to put it (this year anyway).

As much as I know how he would help us, I have the sneaky suspicion that history would hold out, and he'd kill the significant progress we've made here. If he comes here, I'm gonna be scared the whole time.

They would restructure his deal right away to make it cap friendly.

If and I repeat "IF", T. O. has his head on right! He is the BEST all-around WR in the NFL today.....period! But, did I say "IF"?

I'm on record as saying I DONT want him here, but please...

what progress? being one game over .500 in 3 years and no playoff wins is NOT progress...maybe if you are the Cardinals, Falcons or Texans it would be, but not the Dallas Cowboys

this is M E D I O C R I T Y

If TO and Keyshawn can coexist together, we have yet another benefit. I'm pretty sure that in '04 JJ ran better when we were in a 3wr set. KJ is a pretty good blocker anyway. This would also keep teams from playing 8 in the box.

We still need youth at WR, but that's what the draft is for.

if the Eagles pay the bonus, it counts on THEIR cap, not the new teams...a new team probably doesnt want to pay the 5mil bonus themselves because they are leery of how Owens will act once he gets there

all the new team would be responsisble for is the base salary and whatever future bonuses and/or incentives are built in

I agree. As much as it would pain me to root for TO, as soon as he had a game with 7 catches, 141 yards and 2 td's, I think most of us would be happy just so long as he'd be a "good" soldier. Charles, I know this kid Anthony Fasano, he's from NJ, and he's a good kid. I'm sure he'll get drafted-I hope he does well.
