If the Cowboys win the next two games, the excitement will reach 2007 levels

I hate discussing the 2007 season outside of a Cowboys forum. That was more painful than the 49ers going onto the win the SB in 1994.

I miss that prolific offense in 2007. Man...I remember back then even Crayton was feared and considered a weapon.

Quote Mike Francesca: "The Giants couldn't stop em, the Cowboys got too many weapons. Romo, Owens, Witten, Barber, Crayton, how can you stop all those guys?"

Crayton and Barber being considered "weapons." My how times have changed...

I hate what happened that year. Would have rather had the Pats go undefeated than to deal with these damn Giants fans (I live in NY).

Detroit will be very tough. All the more so since they lost a hard-fought battle to the Bengals. Calvin Johnson, a tough defense, we still don't know for sure whether Murray and Ware can contribute or not..........I'd put the Cowboys' odds of winning at about 45%.

If the aggressive offense shows up, odds should be 75% for us. If the "let their defense dictate to us" offense shows up, it drops down to 25% for me. We need to be above .500 at the bye and this game will put us there, if we lose, then we could be sitting at 5-5.

2007 excitement? I don't know about that. That was a special year. Our offensive line was good and we were humming on all cylinders that year at this time. Our only hiccup early on was the Patriots. We were fairly healthy I recall on both sides of the ball. Of course we ran into injuries on offense at the end which really hurt but I'm just comparing first 10 games then to first ten games now.

Our defense that year never put up the putrid performances and shown the inconsistency it has to think you can have long term success down the road. Plus, that year, the only other team to really worry about at the time was the Packers. Now, does anyone think we could beat seattle or SF? Or even the Saints? Heck even GB for that matter.

Since what has transpired since the end of 2007 until today, I really doubt we reach those levels of excitement because many just don't trust Dallas.

Like someone mentioned before, many got excited in 2011 after going from 3-4 to 7-4 and we all know how that season ended.

You have a good point. You can't trust this team. The last few years, there has been little reason get excited or believe this team can be anything other than average.

It was the next week against Philly.

Opening drive we have Owens running away from Lito Shepard for what would have been a 75 yard touchdown, on the throw romo hit his thumb on a linemans helmet.

He wasnt right the whole game, then Owens turned his ankle at Carolina. Both were nicked up.

Worst part was the giants asically mimicked the eagles defense, spagnuolo knew all the blitzes and looks from working in Philly with Johnson and called the same game.

Such a bummer and a what if. If romo doesn't hit his thumb on a helmet he hits Owens for a big play and we probably win that game....then who knows what the giants do.

Oh well

Yep that's what I meant. The game after the Detroit game. Even in that Lions game we didn't seem right. They were not that good that year.

But yes, that Eagles game was terrible. And it was a home game I want to say. I don't even think we scored a TD the entire game. I don't remember Romo getting dinged up, though. I do remember TO getting hurt the next game against the Panthers but we ended up winning. Then since the Packers lost surprisingly that week or the one after, we had the #1 seed locked up. And didn't even try against the Skins in the final game. Then had a bye week the wild card. So in effect and reality, we didn't play a real game for 3 weeks heading into that Giants game. And even though TO played, he wasn't 100%. Neither was Terry Glenn.

And oh yeah, I still Crayton.

Same old, same old...with your posts! You can't stand the team..move on.

Yeah because being truthful is not liking the team. Since 97, this team is exactly .500. That is the definition of average and up and down.

Yep, romo hit his thumb on the helmet of a lineman and wasnt supposed to play at Carolina the next week but did and that is the game Owens and if I remember right Chris canty were also hurt.

Romo hit his thumb n the opening drive of the game again in 2011 vs Philly at home if I remember right and came out for the rest of the game.

All I am asking you is to show some respect and type his name right. Tony.

Come on, GimmieSomeBalls, give him some respect. Spell his name right! That is all I ask. Don't go to the dark side...! Don't just like Romo when you want too! And that football signed by Aikman that I was going to send you? For getta bout it.

Spell his name right! Hater!

(stupid cowboy fan)

Gee with flowery, conciliatorium talk like that how can one resist . .. naw. Me continue to spell the names with endearment. Jimma is my favorite coach off all time so there.
