If the cowboys won would we still be calling for Dak?

Dak Prescott has been awarded the starting QB spot for a reason. Cooper Rush has undergone a similar process and been justifiably relegated to the backup position. Let's see how Dak manages to perform in the remaining contests before making phony assumptions about what his worth is or isn't. It's a difficult job for anyone to undertake in the NFL. The pressures on an NFL QB are more than enough to test the best of them.

Dak's cap hit is 100m this year, 90m next year, and is Jerrys featured player. Jerrys not going to let him sit on the bench if he's healthy

His cap hit is $19.7M this season and $49.1M in 2023.

considering the game played out the exact same with rush having 3 ints... what if we had won the game though. Would we still be calling for dak? Or would we ride with the guy who keeps winning games?

I for one am ready for dak to come back but that loss made it a lot easier of a decision.

If we had won I wonder if it would still be as easy...
IF....

They named him starter this week before the paint was dry from the Eagles game. Without a single ball thrown this week to see how he feels.

I am of the opinion he was ready for the Eagles game, but for whatever reason, they held him out. Reeks of a Jerry decision to me.
yeah dak was ready, it was almost like jerry was ok with losing the eagles game, and dak wasnt even suited up.
I thought he would be the backup, but guess jerry didnt want him playing the eagles for any reason.

Yes Dak should be the starting QB over Rush. We have to deal with his time as the starting Cowboys QB just as we did with the likes of Quincy Carter, Vinny Testaverde, Drew Bledsoe and Tony Romo. Off course we have to toss in the other 20 or so QB's that played at least one game during that time frame also. When you have a owner that wont invest a high draft pick (1st round) into the QB position this is the type of questions that get asked though. Is there any other team out there where the fans are debating if the undrafted backup QB should start over the starter?...Welcome to the Dallas Cowboys, the most dysfunctional team for the past 25 years.

I think after 1st half offense , even if we had pulled back and D had stopped the Last TD of eggles and somehow we won , we would be still calling Dak , since the limitations caught up with Rush and TOs started climbing

Only if you let Will Grier throw one deep out route per quarter…..watching Cooper Rush impersonate Andy Dalton is infuriating…..at least Dalton hit the DBs in stride.

Honestly his production fell off the last 3 weeks. I think we had maxed him out. It was time for Dak. That said Dak was looking at a real short leash before Rush chants start around AT&T.

if you dont want him sit on the bench 5 years the figure you use is the dead money

Actually you use the salary cap hit and dead money to determine the potential savings and timeline to release a player.

The Dak fans think he has the ability and bring a lot of hope every year. The Dak doubters see no evidence of it and are results focused. If Dak can lead this team to its first super bowl since the 1995 season, I think he would overcome 99% of the doubters.

No matter how you frame the questions, Dak is still the better athlete. It seems the anti-Dakkers continue their weak attempts to get people to admit they are right.

I have doubts about Dak. But I also think this Eagles game, a night and day first half/ second half showed a similarity we see with Dak.

He is a bus driver. You can win with a bus driver, but you must build the team around him so he can thrive. That means a solid front five on offense that can open running lanes and protect during passing plays. That also includes a defense which is strong enough to control games and prevent getting into a shootout.

The future of this franchise finding the Brady, Allen, Mahomes QB is slim and none. The team's results keep them in the middle of the pack in regard to drafting. So acquiring that Micah type generational player for the QB position is virtually unattainable. The alternative is a disgruntled QB - someone like Rodgers, although I am not recommending Rodgers at all - who has the power to jump ship and come to the Cowboys.

But the salary that player would demand will send this fandom into a hissy fit. Because, for some reason, you people act like it is your money.

The Bills traded 3 first round picks to move up in the draft to take Mahomes at #11. There is no reason Dallas can't do the same once they target a player. Brady? That dude is an anamoly in the annals of NFL history. Most NFL teams passed on him at least 5 times. NOBODY saw him coming or thought he would be anything more than a back-up QB.

The Dallas Cowboys haven't spent a first round pick on a QB since 1989. We haven't even tried. We got lucky with Romo who was an UDFA and Dak who we settled for in round 4 b/c the Raiders scooped us on Connor Cook.

Yes because we can’t just keep sneaking by teams we have to blow them out so we can rest a defense

I don’t think the bills drafted Mahomes. I’m sure you just made a mistake here.
