If the Eagles got cocky again, would you trade for Asante Samuel?

What pick would you give for him?

IMO, I'll trade a 3rd round pick for him. I understand Newman's groin injury hasn't even be confirmed and all that but I just don't trust him to stay healthy.

And by cocky I meant trading to a division rival like they did with Mcnabb.

Yes I would give a 3rd rounder for him, even if Newman does dodge this potential injury, we can trade or cut him. Asante is clearly better in my opinion, I just cant trust Newman staying healthy these days.

Not sure if the Eagles would take a 3rd rounder, they try to rob their trade partners.

doubtful they'd let him go for less than a 1 or a 2.

even more doubtful they would trade him within the division.

:starspin

They are "reportedly" offering Samuel and a 2nd for Willis.

If thats what they'd give for him, I'm guessing we'd have to give AT least a 2nd for him.

Most likely a 1st.

I wouldn't do it.

For a 2nd, maybe. A 3rd, heck yea.

I would never, under any circumstances, trade anything to the Eagles for anyone. I wouldn't trade a 7th in 2021 for Desean Jackson. I'm absolutely serious. How many times do you have to see the Eagles fleece other teams in the NFL before you get wise?

what? I don't recall all the great trade success by them.

last time we dealt with the Eagles we fleeced them in the draft

There is a reason they went after DRC and Nami and are trying to unload Samuel he gambles to much always trying to go for the pick it has cost them several games including hurting them in the playoffs when he misses and gives up big plays. The guy is a good player but there is a reason the Pats let him walk and why the Eagles are trying to replace him this year.

these reports of a patrick willis trade are funny. There more of a chance I get laid by mila kunis than him getting traded.

So, you'd give up a shot at Jeremiah Trotter to pick David LaFluer all over again, huh? I liked the Canty trade, but swapping 4ths isn't exactly a blockbuster deal, is it? And in the past 2 years, they've gotten 2 2nds, a 3rd and a pro-bowl CB for QBs they were going to cut anyway.

when was that? Last trade I remember.. we moved up to get Spencer and in turn they used our picks for Kolb, Stewart Bradley and Brent Celek. Considering what they got for Kolb, they got the better deal.

Yes, but they wouldn't trade him to Dallas.

  1. ^ a b c d Dallas traded a second-round selection, its third-round selection, and its fifth-round selection (36th, 87th, and 159th overall, used to select Kevin Kolb, Stewart Bradley, and C.J. Gaddis, respectively) to Philadelphia for Philadelphia's first-round selection (26th overall, used to select Anthony Spencer)."NFL draft trade tracker 2007". ESPN.com. 2007-04-28. Samuel is a better zone player that gambles and gets burned as many times as he wins. Rob likes to play man to man. Not really a good fit.

dallas is rebuilding, and their cap situation is bad.

Guess what? You guys are less then 3 million under the cap, and have to re-sign both Mike Vick AND Desean Jackson next year. Not to mention Lesean McCoy will be in the last year of his contract.

Good luck with that.

they are going to sign vick long term before the season starts, and free up 6-10 million on this years cap. he is counting almost 16 million against the cap right now, and this would let them spread the bonus out creatively over 4-5 years. they will use that money they freed up to sign desean.

eagles can save even more money by getting rid of joselio hanson, winston justice, juqua parker, and trading or restructuring asante samuel. if they do that they could sign vick, desean, and still have money to sign or trade for another big time player. they pretty much have the options to do whatever they want right now.

all of the contracts they gave out this off season are either 1 year deals or very cap friendly. the only deal that is not cap friendly, is mine. the eagles have the best cap manager in the nfl in joe banner, and they are showing that off right now.
