If the Eagles got cocky again, would you trade for Asante Samuel?

they are going to sign vick long term before the season starts, and free up 6-10 million on this years cap. he is counting almost 16 million against the cap right now, and this would let them spread the bonus out creatively over 4-5 years. they will use that money they freed up to sign desean.

eagles can save even more money by getting rid of joselio hanson, winston justice, juqua parker, and trading or restructuring asante samuel. if they do that they could sign vick, desean, and still have money to sign or trade for another big time player. they pretty much have the options to do whatever they want right now.

all of the contracts they gave out this off season are either 1 year deals or very cap friendly. the only deal that is not cap friendly, is mine. the eagles have the best cap manager in the nfl in joe banner, and they are showing that off right now.

you will be fun to have around this year..that is if you stick around..

dallas is rebuilding, and their cap situation is bad.

I don't agree on either.

No evidence of rebuilding.

Restructure some contracts and we are way under the cap.

There is a less than zero chance Philly would trade Samuel to someone in the division.

Less than zero? I know that sounds smart and convincing and all that but after the Mcnabb trade, do you wanna try that again?

when was that? Last trade I remember.. we moved up to get Spencer and in turn they used our picks for Kolb, Stewart Bradley and Brent Celek. Considering what they got for Kolb, they got the better deal.

I forgot about that trade I was thinking the Shawn Andrews trade where we got the better end

Yeah but that was with Wash. Everyone fleeces them in trades. :laugh2:

Yes, but they wouldn't trade him to Dallas.

He has traded with Dallas in the past but it would (one) cost too much and (two) I don't think they are wanting to trade Samuels..

I already have a 30+ year old CB on decline .. .why do i need 2?

As we all know, the Cowboys have plenty of Cap available to do any deal they wish to, despite the endless reporting to the contrary.

However, I don't know if Samuel is a good fit for us. He is not a great tackler and that would hurt him in our scheme, or what I believe our scheme will be. He would not be cheap IMO. I doubt we could ever get him for a 3rd. I believe it would take a 2nd at the very least. He would command a larger salary and in the right scheme, he would probably be worth it. In ours, I don't know. I suspect he would not fit well.

The other side of the coin is, what are our options? If we are going to give up a 2nd, I might rather look at Brent Grimes. I think he is still unsigned and I believe it would cost a 2nd to get him.

The CB market is pretty limited. I think we might see Antonio Cromartie test the market at some point but really, how many options are available? We might end up having to consider Samuel even though it's not an ideal fit. Of course, this assumes he would even be available to us which is not at all a certainty IMO.

these reports of a patrick willis trade are funny. There more of a chance I get laid by mila kunis than him getting traded.

They might if the Eagles packaged some high draft choices. I'm not holding my breath though.
