What will that say about our Cowboys? I still feel as though we are on the cusp.. Would a Gnats Super Bowl win change the way any of you feel about the state of the Cowboys? As much as it makes me cringe to believe so, they are no pushover and they're giving GB all they can take right now. The front office is making some strong early coaching moves and will undoubtedly be busy in FA.. Add another solid draft to the mix and we are looking much better next year. I'm not trying to pump sunshine. I just want to know your thoughts with regards to how the Gnats play might make you feel about the state of the team based upon how we played them this season.

I had 16 games to see how good our team is. Whatever the Giants do in the playoffs doesn't really impact it. The past two weeks, I've seen teams play at a level I hadn't seen from Dallas this season. We really didn't belong in the playoffs. I think we have a lot to build on, but I'm not worried about what-ifs because we were not a championship level team this season.

:laugh2: @ some of these responses esp bbgun. It's a valid hypothetical. We measured up well to a number of teams this year (incl the gnats). They didn't look anything close to wherever they are all season long.. Thy hit their stride at the right time. We are not far away and I will venture to say that Romo will sniff the beauty of a deep playoff run or two before his career winds to a close.

I understand what the OP is saying. I don't think its a dumb statement, but the fact is we did not win either of those games and thats the difference between good teams and mediocre/bad teams. The good ones will ALWAYS find a way to win NO MATTER WHAT, NO EXCUSES.

Yeah we were up by 12 with 4min., if we were better, we would've won. If we were better in the 2nd game, we would've found way to come back and won or never put ourselves in that hole to begin with.

Yeah we're close, but we still need to get over that hump that has been causing us to roll back downhill everytime we seem to be making small progress.

But seeing the Giants win just shows that Giants can turn it on when they need to. It doesn't say much about Dallas though.

I don't think this team is on the cusp of anything other than another year of cutting overpaid veterans and looking for their replacements . Retooling or rebuilding , whatever you want to call it . The Giants beat Dallas twice . That doesn't raise the Cowboys status in any way .
