If the players have really quit

So what’s the point of keeping him? The Cowboys still control their own destiny. It seems to me it’s detrimental to have someone whom everyone has tuned out.
Jerry is still hoping against all hope that he turns the team around.

They haven’t quit. It’s their confidence that’s waverining, and what’s going on with coaching talk, and can’t play together or get out of the funk they stay in...it’s all bad juju of the fat lady putting her Viking hat and cape on to go out on stage for her big crescendo.

The Cowboys have many talented players. But they lack cohesion and attention to detail. They play hard at times but especially on defense they look like a bunch of guys running around. When I watch the NE or SF defenses, they run to specific spots. They play together as a team as opposed to eleven individuals.

Before the season began, I thought our defense would be similar to the Niners defense.

If the reports are true and they’re for sure getting a new coach in 2020, there genuinely is ZERO reason to not fire him now.

Fire him now, and the interim coach can maybe catch lightning in a bottle and make a run.

The team is obviously not going anywhere with Garrett this year. All of this drama has changed the effort level of the team - it’s blatantly apparent out there.

Only bad can come of keeping him: the team will either continue to be piss poor (bad), or even worse, they pull it together despite Garrett’s incompetence, and make a deep run (which unbelievably, might save Garrett’s job)

I dont believe the scheme has anything to do with it. This defense is and has been overrated. They lack the consistent interior push and are pushed around in the ground game as well. This is a player issue. Same at the safety spot.
Yea because we are the only team that seems to need all pros at every position to succeed.

Yet everyone calls me crazy when I say that this team has quit.

“They’re professional football players.” Yeah, so?

That doesn’t mean they don’t give up. I honestly cant tell if they given up or if they just don’t care at all. You’d be a madman to say that some of the players aren’t angry or upset with this loss (See Bennett). But I truly think many of these players have clocked out for this season. I saw it in the 2Q of this game. Defense straight up gave up. Maybe that’s why Bennett was angry. Offense, I’m not sure. Dak hasn’t been himself and has turned into a people pleaser. Zeke, I don’t know. Amari has never been a people guy. This team just lacks grit and gut. They lack passion. They lack Urgency. It’s hard to describe the psychological aspects of this team because it’s so off.
:hammer:Well said

They lack talent on the defense side of the ball. especially the d-line. btw this team hasn't quit on JG it never has. Now is that to say they wont? No, but it hasnt happened in the past.

You’re wrong actually. See this tweet here?

Inside source (which I’m sure if a player. If it wasn’t, they wouldn’t leaked the source) says the entire team is over Garrett. It’s already happened. Maybe that’s why they looked so stupid on the field today, but then again they’ve basically been doing that all year so what do I know?

When you see a player like Zeek need a truck load of oxygen because hes so out of shape players are not scared of the coach
He's fat. He parties a lot during the week. He got paid, and doesn't care. Just wants the image and to pull up the game in a hummer limo. Teams built around characters like Zeke elliott never win Super Bowls.

But..but.. Dak says their confidence is fine o_O.
Did he lie?

People keep saying this but they quit on him all the time. The Chargers game a couple of Thanksgivings ago, the Colts game last year, and the Jets game this year are just a few examples. The games we win are because we have a tremendous amount of talent that can sometimes overcome the coaching. The players say they like to play for him because he wants to be their best friend. He never gets upset at them for screwing up--as a matter of fact just the opposite. We called Wade camp cupcake, but this guy gives everyone a pass.

The overrating was done by the GM and coaches. Paying Jaylon Smith big money was a mistake. Kris Richard has not brought about an improved secondary and nobody gets turnovers or makes splash plays
Apple Turnovers anyone?

Nah not allpros... they just have been depending on guys that are sub's to play better than what they are capable of doing. Just hasnt worked out

Why? Great D's are built around the DLine and DT's. They are stacked. We have JAG's.

I was thinking about last years defense. I was hoping that the D would be one year stronger. Well, we know how that is turning out.

doesnt mean the players have quit on him... organization usually means FO folks. I have yet to see a team give up on him. even when they were playing with Matt Cassels and didnt stand a chance at a win they still didnt give up.

Now not getting on to them is just your opinion. Romo even said tonight he gets on to them behind closed doors. He doesnt make it public. Thats coming from someone whos been there done that.

Fair enough!!!

Every great D starts w/ disruptive DT's.

Just because they don’t say it, doesn’t mean they haven’t given up. Trust me. Look back at the game tonight and tell me they didn’t give up. Tell me that defense cared. Tell me Dak cared. Tell me the O-line cared. Tell me Maher cared. Tell me the ST cared. Look around you and these last few games and tell me this team cared. They’ve given up on Garrett. Trust me. What was that high 5 situation in the Jets game if they didn’t care, eh? Show me proof that this team has cared about JG since then.

At the end of it all, the players care about getting money and fame. That’s about it. The win, they could care less about. Championships and Superbowls are a bonus if they’re lucky enough, but they won’t fight hard enough to get there. Trust me. I’ve seen this attitude before, and it never ends nicely.
