..would you claim him and add him to the 53? I know someone will so I don't think you can wait and sign him after Week 1.

I would and I'm not a Longhorn fan in anyway.

* He's only 26, and at 6'1" 205 and very fast, he can help on Special Teams.

* The Raiders should hardly be considered a reliable source on whether or not a player has what it takes.

* The knock on him is that he really isn't a true safety or a true corner. In today's NFL, the nickelback and dimeback are essential members of your defense.

* If he sucks, you cut him, no big cap hit involved.

This league is full of players who made it big on their second chance. He isn't a lawbreaker (Matt Jones) or lockeroom cancer (Brandon Marshall). Take the chance on a talented kid. No risk with the exception it means we possibly expose Mike Mickens to other teams or we give up on a Courtney Brown or Pat Watkins.

Have at me.

Anyone know if he is any good on ST? If he's average to better, then I would have no prob giving him Watkins spot.

I think if you liked him once you gotta take a look.

He is playing on the most ****ed up team in the league. He might have something.

That said, if they want him gone they'll find a trade partner.

Absolutely. You instantly sign him and cut Patrick Watkins.

you sure about that? This is Al Davis, who used pick #4 on Heyward-Bey.

If you claim him, you also claim his contract which I assume is fairly large since he was a top 10 or so pick. Probably way too much money for a guy who couldn't even stick with the Raiders and will probably only play special teams anyway. Pass!

7/24/2006: Signed a six-year, $43 million contract. The deal includes $15 million guaranteed and $20 million in incentives. 2009: $945,000, 2010: $5.75 million, 2011: $1.945 million (Club Option), 2012: Free Agent
The guarantees might keep him from being claimed on waivers, but once he's a free agent he could go where he wants for the minimum.

I think its impossible for him to be any worse than Watkins or Brown, so yeah, I would take him, but I doubt we do.

Is he a four year veteran? If so, he would be a free agent and not subject to be 'claimed'.

Meh. Hard to judge Oakland talent. No one wants to be there.

I mean Moss and Fabian Washington looked horrible because of the environment.

Huff is puffing to save his career

Huff is competing against Hiram Eugene for the starting job this season. He made a huge impression on Cable with an interception against the Dallas Cowboys on Aug. 13 and several open-field tackles.
"That play out in center field like that really was something," Cable said of Huff's interception. "He's capable of that. That's why he's back there. He's athletic, can run, all that. "... He's a good player. He knows what he needs to do in terms of becoming a sure tackler. But he's right in the middle of it."

"I watched every tackle from Brian Dawkins, Ed Reed, Troy (Polamalu) and Bob Sanders," Huff said. "I watched every one of their tackles from last season just trying to see what they do. They all play different defenses, and they approach the game different, so I tried to take a little bit from each
Michelle Huff is scared of contact. All the film study in the world will not help that. She was never that good in college, remember LeWhale WHite running her over. Overrated and the sooner she is off the team the better

After the interception he had a couple of "bad" plays. I wasn't sure who missed their assignment but the coaches were yelling at Huff. I watched the next 2 Raiders pre-season games and never saw him on the field. Plus, they are in love with their unheard of 2nd round pick, Mitchell.

I dont think he can play, and if he can, Campo not the guy to bring it out of him.

he's getting paid <1 mill this year. That isn't going to scare anyone. Those guarantees likely all came up front
