Would love ityoung, fiery, 4-3 guy. I think it would be a good start....
He's a crap coordinator who apparently can only get results when his GM spends 200M in an offseason. Pass.
question
we all know how much they spent on the defense line
he has Jenkins and Cromartie 2 VERY good corners both are #1 on this team
a all pro safety top 3 in the league just great
so so linebackers but still experienced
they beat teams with defense all last year
now they are playing worse and worse
if that was happening here
the mutiny would be unreal to cut and fire lol
they probably cant sign guys because the cap is spent on linemen
they have no offense line because of it
maybe when they cant pay Collins we can sign him lol

LOL.
He turned that $200MM last year into a Top 5 defense. What are you talking about?
They suck this year largely because their offense is a total abortion and the defense is always playing behind the 8 ball.
Did you see his defenses in St. Louis and New Orleans? Or his first back in NY in Coughlin's last year? Some of the worst in NFL history.
When they spend money, he's suddenly a good coach. When he has to coach up guys, suddenly he's not such a genius.
I swear, people don't pay attention to how guys perform in different situations.
Yeah that's it. Nobody is paying attention.
For one, let's start with the stipulation that there are few, if any, DCs in the NFL right now that can win without some level of talent. So the fact he's been better when he's had talent versus when he has not, isn't exactly the most insightful analysis out there. I think that would be the case for most DCs. But maybe I haven't paid attention enough.
Second, it's clear he was not a very good head coach and but he also lacked talent in St. Louis so to throw him onto the trash heap because of that would be a reach.
His one year with the Saints, another untalented bunch, was also the season the Saints were in the midst of their Bountygate issue and Payton was suspended the entire year. That organization was in total disarray that year.
Yes, his first season back in NY was bad but they lacked talent across their front seven.
He's a quality coordinator. And better than Marinelli. He wouldn't be my first choice, but he's hardly this disaster you think he would be.
Wait, so you're going to cut Spagnuolo slack for lacking talent in St. Louis and New Orleans, but won't cut Marinelli slack for also lacking talent on his defense?
Are you saying that this defensive talent is being held back by the coordinator?
I mean, come on. Spags looks like a genius when he has an all world defensive line, and 200M and multiple first round draft picks dedicated to his defense, but when he doesn't have that level of player, his genius is completely muted? I mean, in New Orleans, their defense was, at the time, the worst in NFL history. He did nothing to elevate the defense at all. Just like he did nothing to do this in St. Louis, and nothing in his first year back in New York.
Is he better than Marinelli? Probably. Do I think he's a great coach? Absolutely not. But, at least I'll judge him and Marinelli using the same criteria. Can you say the same?
