Is there any chance you all can see this being Gallups final season as a cowboy, if Tolbert is able to take his camp progress into the season? Financially is this what the cowboys want to happen
That is what you want to have happen if you draft lights out year after year and you can fill departures with a capable replacement on rook contracts, and the teams that understand that are the teams that have been heavily investing in their scouting dept, McClay has taken advantage of that now, and this franchise has a very good chance of a needy team needing to overpay in a trade, so let's go, gives us some future draft capital because we got some depth, some surplus that is still tradeable, and very valuable to more teams than we might think, there are sharks in the water that want to emmulate what Q is doing to this defense, but its a little late follks, just cause you see how violent this defense can be does not mean that you can just go and copy it,,, lol glwt.

But having said that, there is absolutely nothing wrong presently with having CD, Cooks and Gallup as your top 3, that is some starting 3 burners right here.

We are spoiled fans if we are talking WRs, after our top 3 scary threat, we got some crazy comp taking place with dogs like Tolbert having a very strong early camp as a breakout young WR, and now we are talking 4 deep.... don't have to read so fast when you have hands flashing wide-open in your face, that's all I'm saying.

It's an all-hands-on deck offense, and that is the attitude and atmosphere I truly believe exists now, Dak has all kinds of hands-on deck currently, now.

Who wants to be a hero step on up and just look at the depth in Hands.

This offense has hands flashing all over the landscape, lots of options, and this running game is going to really freak some peeps out, when we can start a game with a 3WR look, and keep Deuce in the backfield, thank about that for just a moment, and all that hesitation results in is speed kills to the endzone.

Nobody has a clue about the next steps that this offense has just put in place, everyone too focused on an extraordinarily brutal defense they are going to have to deal with.

There I spazed out on some emojis beacuse I know how much time many peeps here truly understnd the meaning more than most of us do,,,,
I can take the time to throw down some when I know this is the special season, so there you go folks....

No.

Cooks is likely gone after this year.

So you still want Lamb / Tolbert and MG13
Cooks is signed through 2024, just counting 8M next year, 6M this year.

He is not likely gone until his two year contract is up!

1st of all. Unless a starter gets hurt Tolbert will have limited opportunities. He can show improvement but he just won't get starter reps or production from volume unless someone gets hurt.

2. Unless that person is Gallup there won't be a reason to move on from him. An injury would prove why they needed the extra depth of cooks.

I think most of you only remember the Gallup of last year. The year previous, he was balling out. Gallup was developing into a legit deep threat that would win those 50-50 balls. If he can get back on track, he will be a perfect compliment to Cooks speed and Lambs smooth route running.

I'm still in the opinion that Gallup is going to have a bounce back season. He's still a good player. Just had a down year coming off of injury.

Wow, Thank You for clarifying this. I didn't know. Having Cooks for two years is BIG.
Yeah, I was very happy when they got him to restructure his deal. It was a major win for the team.

Probably in light of how some feel about the Joneses caving to get Martin in camp, Cooks' deal is a good one to look at concerning how business is done. There is some give and some take to make everything work in the cap era.

They restructured Gallup’s contract during the offseason. That should be a clear indication they’re not even considering moving on from him anytime soon nor have any doubt he’ll return to form with an off-season regaining the muscle in his leg!

Because two are better than three? I’m so ready for the season to start so these type of questions will stop.

This feels a bit premature, Tolbert needs to contribute first. A healthy Gallup is a good WR. Hopefully, Tolbert can take his couple of catches in preseason to real games and help form a strong WR group.

No., likely MG will be around another couple years at least. But it would be awesome if Tolbert becomes the real deal to compete for PT. The more the merrier. Yes, the Boys FO would love for this to happen since that is a big difference in salary.

Tyron Billy-Johnson arrived at the Dallas Cowboys as a journeyman. Despite having 80 receptions for 1,288 yards in his last two seasons at Oklahoma State, he went undrafted in 2019. The Dallas Cowboys are the ninth franchise he has been a part of in his brief NFL career. Billy-Johnson has yet to see extensive action thus far, having played only 26 games. Therefore his true potential as a receiver has yet to be seen. What is evident, however, is his speed. His 40-yard dash time was clocked in at 4.36 seconds on his pro day.

Johnson should see plenty of playing time over the next two preseason games against the Seattle Seahawks and the Las Vegas Raiders. Don’t expect any of the Cowboys’ top receiving options to play in the final preseason game; that also should include Jalen Tolbert. This will provide ample opportunity for Billy-Johnson to see if he can make an in-game connection with third-string quarterback Will Grier.

A 4.3 receiver to match Turpin both in returns and receiving...special team or practice squad as well.
