If we are up big vs. the Skins on Thursday, does Romo play?

All NFL teams would be well served by getting their backup quarterbacks more work.

Now if you are going to bring Romo in just to hand off it wouldn't make much sense. I say yes. Absolutely yes.

The Cowboys have double justification to get Romo in:
-Help him knock rust off if we need him
-Help assure possible trade partners this offseason of what he can do.

So far this year we've blown out the Bengals, Packers and Browns. As I said, we will blow out 1-2 more teams. My GUESS is the Skins or Bucs. Other teams are too good to blow out IMO. Play the man...even if it's just a possession or two.

Imo the only way Romo goes in this year is if we badly need the win and Dak cannot play. I don't expect to see him play in a "won" game, or to hold onto a big lead, nor do I expect him to play in a "starters are being sat" sort of game if we have already clinched. Barring a Dak Injury, or some sort of historic melt down, Romo won't see the field this year imo.

Doubt we are that comfortable with the Skins. Despite so so stats they are winning.

It's a division game against a good team so this scenario is unlikely. Washington got a bit of a bad break having to play the night game today and also having to travel to Dallas on a short week. It will be interesting to see how they handle that.

gonna watch their game pretty closely tonight, but I think we're in for a let down on turkey day. short week coming off a very physical win and it's against a division rival

Division games are always tough, but the skins will be coming off a very physical game on an even shorter week, and it's against a division rival for them too. Plus they are on the road, so advantage Dallas. That said, I think this will be a fight to the end.

There will be no garbage time against a desperate NFC East team. Skins are fighting for their playoff lives. Depending on the outcome of tonight's game, they may be half a game behind Detroit/Minny for the 2nd playoff spot.

NFC East games are always battles to the end.

I think that you will see Romo at the first opportunity, not only to knock the rust off but to increase his trade value by showing that he still has it.

I only ask because I think we can smoke them pretty good. They have to play the Pack tonight and it wont get over until almost midnight. Then they have to play us on Turkey Day with only about 3.5 days rest. Travel to Big D and I don't think they'll have their legs at all. SO......we get up by 3 TD's or so midway through the 4th (let's say it's 31-10) do you put him in? I would as well as Morris.

Just let them get some PT in case we need them in the playoffs. It isn't about anything but that. Being prepared in case Dak or Zeke is hurt or sick in the playoffs. Can't expect TR to come in and do much after not playing all season. Same with the Tampa game...possible we could get up big. The other games vs. Minny, Giants, Lions and Philly will probably be close enough that it won't be a consideration.

C'mon now...

Along these lines, the thought just occurred to me. What if we wrap up home field advantage early? Does Romo get a start or significant playing time in the last game? That would be cray cray...

Or avoid it altogether and play Sanchez instead?
Sanchez was inactive Sunday, so that's clearly not their plan.

I think if it comes up, they'll ask Tony if he wants to go in. I don't think they'll ask him to go in just for kneeldowns (the starter usually does that anyway), but if we're ahead 4 or 5 scores with half a quarter to go, yeah, I think they'll ask him and I think he'll say yes.

If it was a situation late in the game where Dallas had the game wrapped up and all you are doing is killing the clock? NO I would do that to Romo that would be pretty classless of the Cowboys.

Skins will probably score at least 28; it will not be a blow out for the Cowboys.

Then the defense did not play as well as they should have. Dallas is giving up an avg of 18 points a game I would consider a good outing by the defense is keep the skins within that avg. :)

I'd prefer to see Sanchez - we need to audition him for the veteran backup job. Romo won't be in Dallas next season.

I don't think they will give Romo any game time. The problem would be if he comes on (at any point) and plays well.. then it just renews the issue.

Right now I think any QB would look good playing behind our O'Line with Zeke causing them to load the box on every play. Dak was in the right place at the right time and has been exceptional.

There is zero chance that they let Tony anywhere near the field unless Dak gets injured.

Romo is the #2 qb he will come in to mop up and maybe play if they wrap up early.
I dont think this game will be a blow out.

Dak Prescott says its Tony Romo's team.
Jerry Jones says its Tony Romos team.
Tony Romo knows its his team.

Something fishy with him not being given the starting job back. He never lost the job due to poor play.

I doubt we put Romo in for mop up duty, for the same reason, we did not switch to Bledsoe as the holder back in 06' when Romo replaced him as the starter. Instead if we're up big, expect A LOT of handoffs to Alfred Morris.

They did say that, but it is the jones familys team, and they decide who the qb is.
Dak has won 9 games in a row, so tony lost the job due to being injured, and another guy doing as good if not better than
he had done in the past.
it is rare this happens, but it did.

I will say it again, tony isnt a bkup, he is a 2nd starter, so no telling how all this works out this year and next year.
Dak has to keep winning to solidify him as starter.
They know he might lose one and will stay with him, but he cant afford to lose many games.
