If we aren't a "good" team then the Giants aren't much better

The Giants might have been 2 years ago when they won the Superbowl, but they didn't exactly dominate tonight and could easily have lost after being given 4 GIMME turnovers AND getting 3 amazing bounces (The pick off Witten's foot, the tipped pass that bounced off Raitliff's hand - but not enough, and the end zone catch where ball bounced straight up and came down to receiver again). Ok, you make your own bounces often, but we ran on them at will, they got no sacks, and can't score in redzone.

Giants don't look like world beaters. Really, no team does yet so far early on this season.

NFC East isn't looking quite as strong as predicted yet, although I think it will improve.

Good point.

Outside of New Orleans every NFC team has shown some warts thus far.

thats the point, they find ways to win, we find amazing and unprecidented ways to lose.

Yep, Cochese.

The bottom line is we continue to lose these games. Baltimore, Pitts at end of last year. Now this Giants game. Seattle, and Giants in playoffs, previous 2 years. Can't get over the hump.

Big game. Home game against Div Foe in your brand new stadium.

Except for Manning who had a monster game. They definitely don't have a super bowl caliber run defense.

Basic difference the Giants usually dont beat themselves. Also the Giants believe they can pull it out at the end.

Yep.

We've had a more talented team for awhile now.

Giants find ways to win and we all know Dallas invents ways to lose.

They don't find ways they invent them.

give the Giants Wade and Garrett and see how good they do...

seriously we're about even in terms of skill the difference is the Giants play smart football and we play stupid, that's what makes it so frustrating

Giants were missing Ross, Dockery, Canty, and Sintem with injuries. Tuck was gone for the second half. Robbins, Boley, Bernard, Phillips, and Johnson are coming off injuries. On offense, they're missing Ware, Nicks, and Hixon was gone after the 1st quarter.

So yea, on defense they didn't look so good, especially after Tuck went down, but it's only the second game of the year.

well i dont exactly consider the giants to be all that good either as i predicted they wouldnt make the playoffs. they looked mediocre against a pathetic Commanders team and looked average against our average team. if they make the playoffs it will be by default because of injuries to the Eagles. i dont think they make the playoffs as a Wildcard team. Whoever makes it from the NFC east will make it as the division winning team with New Orleans, Atlanta, chicago, and the packers fighting for the other wildcard spots/division.

The comment about the 3 unlucky bounces really just drives home the fact that the NFL (and all sports really) is just a game of inches. If Ratliff's arm is in just a slightly different spot, the Giants are facing 4th down. If Romo's pass to Witten is lower, or higher, or more inside then it doesn't fall into Witten's foot the same way. For such a fast paced, violent game, there's only a very small margin for error.

Oh yes...but yesterday we lost a game we had to win IMO and if the Giants can win a game that don't deserve to win...mmm...

It doesn't take a lot to win in the NFL. It's easier said than done, but all you really need to do is be able to play good defense, run the football and not make game-killing turnovers.

The Giants do that as well as anyone in the league. We don't. We saw that tonight.

Thank you for bringing some reality to the table. All those injuries and they were still mentally tough enough to win. My hats off to them.
