I'm extremely impressed with Lynch, but I do think we need to go after the QB that we feel is the best if we can get the first QB in the draft. Maybe Lynch isn't nearly as good or has that potential as I think he does and maybe Goff is the guy.
It's always hard to tell at this point of the season because a lot of what goes into a QB's draft stock are the measureables. That's how Ryan Tannehill ended up getting drafted #8 overall...his measureables were too much for teams to deny and he went from looking like a 2nd or 3rd round pick to a QB that pretty much every team had as a 1st round pick.

I've watched every 2015 snap and most of the games he's played in since winning the starting job as a true freshman during the 2013 season. He has steadily improved the cal squad since he's been there in spite of poor offensive line play.
He's owner of 25 cal passing records, Aaron Rodgers alma mater for those that did not know.
He's never finished a season under 60% completion percentage and approximately 2:1 TD to int ratio. (18:10 his true freshman year).
Furthermore, he has only missed 1 game in 3 years of starting at a power five school ( where the competition goes on to play at the next level). Which flies in the face of the second biggest argument about him, his weight and the notion it will suddenly cause him to be more fragile at the next level. (sacked 33, 26, and 27 times in '13, '14, and '15 which ranked 99, 68, and 80th nationally)
Most importantly of all if you watch him you see a qb who has active feet, goes through multiple reads, has a quick release, is mobile in the pocket and has very good pocket awareness.
What's more is that he has accomplished this on team that does not have top recruiting classes and still competes with the USCs and UCLAs of the world. Can anyone name another player on the cal team off the top of their head that is draft worthy?
His deep ball accuracy could use some work. And he does tend to throw off his back foot at times.
They bears record has improved every year since Goff has been under center, with the exception of his true freshman year. He's no Luck but there is a lot to like there.
Good assessment. I have watched some of his games and has been impressed with him. My only concern is that the games that I saw him play is that he never went under center which I assume was due to the offense they run. With that being said, if Bosa, Ramsey, or Heargraves(spelling) is on the board when we pick, I have to go with them and Wentz in the 2nd if he could get to us.
What happens when we pass on Lynch/Goff in the 1st and Wentz doesn't make it to our 2nd round pick? A lot of factors go into 30 plus draft selections.
Jared Goff tonight... 30/51 542 yards, 5 TD's in a comeback victory against ASU. Big time.
I'll copy and paste what I said earlier:
Oh man, people who are comfortable picking Goff with a top 5 pick, you guys are insane. The guy flat out sucks. Has anyone even watched him? I'm actually surprised so many here are down for that. I can't comment on Lynch because I literally haven't seen him play a snap, but this is a atrocious year for a qb needy team. Connor Cook imo is the best of the bunch, and even he looks like a game manager at the next level, give him a top 5 defense and top running game you'll be fine. Would rather go Jalen Ramsey or Joey Bosa first then Carson Wentz secon
