If we had the No. 1 overall draft pick, what would you do?

1. Pick Andrew Luck/RGIII and have him back up Tony Romo?
2. Pick Andrew Luck/RGIII and trade Tony Romo?
3. Trade the pick and collect more picks? (What do you think you can get for the No. 1 pick? And assuming you could get some of those picks this year, whom would you select? Defense or more protection and weapons for Romo?)

I'm not trying to start another anti-Romo thread, although it's probably going to go there. But I think the hypothetical has some validity because, in reality, the Colts are facing this very same dilemma. I think the Colts still would be facing the same dilemma even if Peyton Manning were healthy.

trade the pick

as for the anti romo folks, ima just drop this right here

Draft Luck and trade Romo to the competent team he deserves.

i would trade the pick. with the browns and get two number ones for it.

I'm one of Romo's biggest supporters but we would have to go into the draft ready to draft Luck with the entention of trading Romo.

But we hope to hell that some team offers us a Harshel Walker type trade for the number one pick and we use that provide Romo with the missing peices he needs to finally win a championship.

Draft Luck and let him sit for a few years.

QB play is probably the single most important factor in the league.

If Andrew Luck develops into the projected player he's supposed to be, having him ride the pine for a few years would be worth it.

That's all there is to it. After seeing what Dallas had post-Aikman, I don't know how anyone can not nearly guarantee the ultimate opposite post-Romo.

Dallas wouldn't have to worry about QB for 15 years if Luck becomes the pro he has the ability to.

Maybe Luck only plays in 10 or 11 of those years but how can you put a price on 10 or 11 years of top notch QB play?

Trade it to the Browns, get 2 1sts (including this years) and extra picks, draft RGIII with the Browns pick. Keep Romo, have RGIII learn behind him (their game is very similar anyway).

You can have your cake and eat it too.

Draft Luck, have him learn under Tony Romo, continue to ignore the line and defense, and then go on to waste Luck's career too.

The only right answer. ^^^^^^^

im a huge Romo fan.....but im a bigger Cowboys fan.....i would take Luck , make him sit a year then make him and Romo battle it out in camp.....if and when Luck beats out Romo I would trade Romo and hopefully gain either a stud player and a mid rounder or another 1st in the future for him.........

I would say this pretty much any year...but I'd trade that pick so fast nobody would ever knew I had it.

I would trade down. I would easily pick up two number 1's probably a 3rd and maybe a role player. This is one of those years when you can get a kings ransom for that pick.

Trade the pick for a bevy of picks, and draft Morris Claiborne and David DeCastro in round 1.

I might be among the three people that thinks Luck will bust out. Dude struggles mightily against fast defenses. Every defense in the NFL is fast.

But if I'm wrong, who cares. I'm just a guy on a message board :p:

Trade for multiple picks & solidify multiple positions on the team....OL, OLB, CB instead of one (albeit potentially a great one) that's not a priority @ the moment.

Draft Luck and have him sit for a few years unless a team is offering about six first round picks.

I trade the pick and add 3 or 4 picks. Cleveland has two 1sts this year and that is a good start. Let them add next year's and a 3rd or 4th this year.

You already have a QB on the roster that can win you a championship and still has several years left in the tank.

There are no guarantees when it comes to QB prospects transitioning to the NFL.

I can however guarantee this, if we dont address issues at other positions we will continue to suck regardless of who's playing QB.
