If we were a bit more active on free agency, would we need to be this active now?

Tell me who was a UFA that would have given Dallas what Hankins has given Dallas in his short time.

Who could have given us what Hankins has given us?

Gee, I don't know, that's a real tough one.....I hear the Raiders signed a UFA that was pretty similarly talented, maybe start there.

Our activity in free agency is driven by our needs, not the other way around. Our needs earlier in the season were not as prevalent so we weren't driven to be as active in free agency.

Over the last few weeks/months, seems like there's a new player happy to be a cowboy. If we were this active in the off season, would we need to be this active now. Yes I know injuries are the biggest issue.

‘Free agency’? What is that?

Injuries and money. Look at the contracts...vet min and incentives is all we are buying. No long term deals yet.

Signing players when they are needed in season is far cheaper than in the off season.
What are the Jones boys saving for? They have more profit, cashflow, value than any other sports franchise in the world.
There is a reason this team has not made a championship game since the dial up internet days, 1996.
Jerry only insists on him being the reason for the teams success.
Two SB wins in 5 years of ownership with Jimmy coaching spoiled him. The crux of the problem is if he today hires Kyle Shanahan or McVay type coach and they win a SB in two years what is the upside for Jerry and his philosophy? All the stupid fans and media will then question Jerry why did you waste the past 27 years an not hire a competent coach and front office.
We are stuck in this catch 22, the only way we have success is by Jerry making it happen. We need the equivalent of a Micah on Offense, which means a Mahomes/ Herbert type talent.

like I sometimes tell a student that keeps asking crazy hypotheticals, I dont know what if the man on the moon came down and swooped you up and took you away?

If we had been, and then we lost a DT and a Corner... would you still need to replace them????? or would the man on the moon fills those positions?

More like, if we'd stop the obsession w/ the skill positions and projects, we wouldn't have such weak areas that always rear their ugly heads.
really? so are you saying if we drafted differently we would have our issues solved? The drafted this guy named Taco, how did that work out?

The DT issues were driven by the thought Gallimore would take a step up and not regress. Like I said in the off-season Gallimore is the new Maliek Collins, always teasing only to regress to JAG level.

You can never tell when a player is going to get injured
Right, but you should be prepared for injuries every year. They happen every year to every team. Some to a greater degree than others. Depth is all about being as prepared as possible for injuries.
