No he wasn't actually but most thought Shuler was a sure thing like Ryan Leaf four years later was thought to be solid.

Turner had to pick between voting for Trent Dilfer or Heath SHuler, this was deemed a good delima at the time.

Retospect and hinesight does not make for wisdom.
