Send us a message,,,,and if you get the chance hit Shula's steakhouse...it's unbelievable...also, if you like Bar-B-Que you have Sonny's.

Ian (Dallas 22) and I will be heading to Clearwater and a place called Shephards which may be the nicest beach in Florida north of gthe keys and south of the panhandle...of course there is always Channelside (where the Panther cheerleaders got arrested and some "clubs" on Dale Mabry where women tend to dance...apparently foir money since I have never been to a place like that being the good Catholic boy I am...

Let us know!

I will be at the Tampa game. I'm not getting into town until Friday, but I do know I plan on being at the Trop for a baseball game (I think the Rays are in town) and going to the Radio Roadshow when I find out the venue.

anybody in Florida that goes to Sonnys for bbq is desparate, totally misinformed or both. I am not a huge BBQ eater but I do know that pulled pork is not supposed to look like what Sonnys serves. Smokey Bones for ribs or BBq pork are 1000 times better than Sonnys.

I was less than impressed with Sonny's. We've been going to Florida for the last 16 years and every year I say I'm gonna stop and try it (the Billboards did it). Last year we finally got take out and it was not so good. All those years of anticipation and I was not impressed.

Germantown Commissary all the way! Sorry, Yeager...

Leroy Selmons is a pretty good place to eat. It is not far from the stadium. Not expensive and the food is really pretty good. Not an A list restaurant but better than most in the Tampa area.

Best BBQ around here is Jimbo's BBQ on Kennedy. About 10 minutes from the stadium. If anyone wants any ideas on where to eat around Tampa...shoot me a PM.

Eh...I prefer central Texas BBQ. Lockhart, TX = best BBQ in the world.

Jimbos used to be my favorite BBQ place but the last few times I ate there it was not any good. Their BBQ pork sandwhich used to be the bomb but over the past few years has gotten worse. I don't know if it is that they changed their meat or what but I swore off of them after the last one I ate.

My buddy and I are flying in Saturday afternoon and flying our Monday morning. Any ideas on restaurants and bars?

There are a ton of bars along Dale Mabry where the stadium is located. As far as restaurants it just depends on your price and what you want.

The Columbia restaurant in Ybor is an upscale Cuban Restaurant that you would probably need reservations. Excellent Cuban food. Just about any place in Tampa have great Cuban sandwhiches.

Steak Places are prevalent. Shulas is close, Charleys is very good, Texas Cattle Company in St Pete or Lakeland, GrillSmith are excellent and all are rated highly.

LongHorn Steakhouse is about two blocks south of the Stadium on Dale Mabry and is a chain but still the food is really good.

Seafood in Tampa is probably Bone Fish, Grill Smith. There are places on Madeira Beach and Indian Rocks Beach (about 30 minutes from the stadium) that are very good with one that was on Diners, Drive in and Dives. It is called Keegans Seafood and it is really good. There

Italian are Carabbas or Buca.

Mexican?? Since Casa Galardo went out of business I don't know. Abuelos in Lakeland is excellent. About 25 minutes East on I-4.

BBQ-Smokey Bones in Citrus Park.

Other restaurants close and good are CheeseCake FActory, Maccaroni Grill, Leroy Selmons.

My buddies and I used to make an annual trek down to Clearwater -- until the economy put a dent in our plans.

With regard to Sheppards -- it's not the beach that's so great about that place but the "talent". You'll have a great time -- enjoy.

Except Richmond, VA area pork bbq. ;)

I keep waiting for somebody to jump up and pimp Kansas City. I've never eaten there, but they are famous for BBQ.

Any opinions on where the good cuban sandwiches can be snagged?

The best cuban sandwiches in Tampa are within a mile or 2 of Raymond James at La Teresita on W Columbus Dr. I'll be at the game as well gentlemen.

P.S. I've had my fair share of unforgettable moments down at Shephards.

Nope....totally disagree. Sonny's is decent BBQ and is reasonably priced against other fare. :p: It's better than Smokey Bones although the donuts for dessert at Smokey Bones are quite tasty.

I'm within driving distance of Tampa but the ticket prices are outlandish. I went to the Jax opener and to Miami last season but I'm gonna skip this one. Next year in the Jones-Mahal.
