If you can chose a position to draft a HOFer.....

A big nasty NT...that is what I would like.

That too would be nice. Kinda sorta the way Big Cat used to disrupt things at the DT position... A big nasty HOF NT would be the ****. ;)

When you played for BYU...did a kicker kick your butt?
Those weak kneed sissies can kick a football but they can't swing a bat and they would need one to accomplish that.

So, l guess even if a PK could help you win a Super Bowl, you wouldn't want one on your team anyway? I mean, lineman aren't going to nail 50+ yard FGs. If you do all that work, come from behind to get yourself in postion to win a game, and your kicker helps you win it, how does that diminish what everyone else did on the field? It's a team sport. And no... I never was a PK... heck, I'm not even that athletic, lol.

Also, I agree that the no-brainer choice is to have a HOF QB to build around, but we should clarify and say that the 2nd (arguably) most important position in Tackle (right or left)... I mean, your HOF QB could be Boomer Esiason ;)

Someone slap the franchise tag on McBriar immediately!!! I think Hos would have a coronary if we ever franchised a kicker. :)

I am with you Hos! You will notice that I did not include kickers on my list. Bunch of damn pansies!

If I coached an NFL team we would NEVER kick except to kickoff and I would use a lineman for that (like the old days of Lou Groza or Lou Michaels). We would go for it on 4th down every time and if we didn't make it then they would butts would be kicked! If we can't convert then we shouldn't be on the field anyway.
Preach it loud and proud Brother Thumper. I hate the sawed off, chain smoking, drama queen, soccer playing midgets. The only time they are tolerable is a game winning clutch kick. The rest of the time they aren't worth the powder to blow them all to hell.

I play that whenever I feel I need cheering up or closer to my maker.

My team would score touchdowns or die trying!

I about died when that happened. My father even gets a kick out of that and its something that lasts in my mind when i think of LA.

Did you mean in relation to the current team we have? Or did you mean if starting from scratch or simply what is most valuable?

With the make-up of the team right now, I would prefer a HOF LT. However, if we are going based on scratch or pure value, it has to be quarterback.

Pretty much, I didn't say to start a franchise, but thinking more along the lines what we need to draft this draft! for all we know Romo could be a HOF QB.......

Oh in this draft? Well I would like to have an OL like Larry Allen then please. A Safety would be nice too, maybe a Ronnie Lott.

In that case, I'll say LT. We'd get HOF play at a critical position and we'd cut down on about 500 penalty yards per year. :)

A great DT would be amazing, though. Imagine a Jerome Brown type on the line along with Demarcus Ware.

What position would you chose... I thought long and hard, I then finally came up with LB. I thought with Ware been so dominant if we were to grab a LB that can rival some of the greats like Butkus, LT, Ray Ray, Singletary and so forth or defense would be pretty scary for about 7 good years...

WR was second choice

On this current team we already have a LB who is going to rival that of LT and Hall of Fame play in D-Ware.

So if we're talking about drafting someone, right now, for this current team then the place I want to draft a Hall of Famer at, at this very moment, is safety. We've not had a great one since Woody and we need one badly.

If we were talking about at any position, on a team that I'm just now the owner of or trying to build from the ground up, then the answer is without a doubt QB and there isn't even another position that's close.

A HOF blocker magnet would be nice....
