I disagree. Romo has already been here for four years. He no longer needs to be groomed. If he doesn't show the ability to lead this team by the end of this year, we need to look elsewhere.

Exactely, and that is what makes it exciting!

Win or lose...hit or miss...we will see.

Well no shortage of people always thought QC showed potential too.

So maybe it would've helped if Romo would've had comparable numbers to him in his debut. 9 for 19 34 yards 0 Td's 2 Int's.

I can't believe what I'm seing from some people here regarding Tony Romo. He was thrown to the dogs on national T.V and did what he could. He has no practice time with the 1st team and he doesnt have experience playing at the NFL level.

Romo has so much more than Bledsoe it's not even funny!. Call me a Romosexual all you want, what I saw last night is enough for me to be hopefull.

Dont look at the 3 picks... For crying out loud, look at what ROMO did well. He lead the team down the field almost every drive. Even after mistakes he had that winning attitude. He allowed this offense to function with the weapons it has. he can make plays with his feet, Arm and head.. He has it all. He has that extra step Bl;edsoe could only wish for.. it's called MOXIE!.

So while everyone looks at the 3 picks I'll look at what he did right...

Lets not forget Eli was close to having 3 picks tonight himself.. Lets also not forget that Bledsoe got picked off 3 times this year already.. And let me tell you In those games Bledsoe did absolutely nothing!..Atleast Romo lead us down the field.

Give the guy a chance!....Lets see what he can do!.. Dont boo him and give him the boot just yet!.

Did everyone here give Aikman the boot his firts year?.... Jeez, I wonder how that turned out.

Yea....right....I'm blind  ...of course I'll give him a chance...it's not up to me anyway, but the only potential I saw last night was Quincy Carter potential...a guy who could move out of the way of the pass rush, but a guy who still made idiotic decisions under pressure.

Aikman's rookie year was tough from the wins and losses, from his learning curve, and mostly from a lousy offensive design under Shula...but Aikman stood in there and took the hits or threw the ball away...he didn't panic and throw the passes Romo threw last night.

I still say Romo could be a solid backup in time, a Jason Garrett type, but he's not the answer at QB...just an opinion like any other one...but I don't see what you see.

Romo is light years away from being Troy Aikman at this point, but if Troy didn't force bad throws exactly how did he rack up a 9 TD's to 18 INTs his rookie year?

take away the picks and bledsoe had a pretty good game as well

Actually no he didn't. He looked like a wounded giraffe running for the goal line and didn't get in. He stunk up the joint big time as usuall.

I got skewered for comparing Romo to Garrett a few weeks ago. I liked Garrett. I didn't see it as an insult at all.

As far as physical skills are concerned, I don't see any similarity at all.

Nothing at all of Romo reminds me of Garrett.

misreading a defense and throwing an int because you missed something or didn't see someone, throwing an int because you thought the wr was going one way and he went another...those I can live with in a young QB.

I have no real problem with Tony's first or last int for the long td run...on the first, he tried to throw through Strahan who was right in front of him. on the last, he threw out and the wr cut in.

I have a serious problem with the screen pass INT...that was a *****, panic throw...period...he's being chased, he sees three blue jerseys between him and the back...the guys were practically shoulder to shoulder, and he threw the ball to them??? I never ever saw Aikman make a play like that...and let's not forget that the pass rush Romo faced was without USI and without Arrington...and those 3 int's all came in 1 half.

I still think Bledsoe should start until we're either buried after this road trip or back in the hunt...once buried, there's plenty of time to play Romo.

I could be wrong, but I didn't like what I saw last night from Romo...the kid can run away very well, but I don't like what I saw from him throwing the ball.

Start him and find out about next year, but we won't be in the hunt for a playoff spot very long this year.

Why would you even bother making that comparison until you actually saw him play in real games?

Size? Draft stature? Pre-seasons?

Size, smarts, small football colleges, and arm strength mostly was what I focused on.

I have no idea why it was insulting.

Aside from the picks which NOBODY liked, what didnt you like about him spreading the ball around. A decent completion percentage (as first game starts go), getting Witten involved for once. A decent YPA. A lil scrambling ability. Threading the needle on a few throws.

What if he'd have had the picks but not done any of that other stuff either.. You out shopping for a new tv to replace your smashed one instead of talking on here..or what?

Ok. I'm going to take up for the dumb guy.

My opinion: if Parcells believes Romo's ready, then he believes he's ready to come in and play well and, gulp...win. Now, Parcells might well be wrong, but I do believe he thinks that not only is Romo the best option now, he's got a lot more upside than Bledsoe does at this point.

If this defense were playing as well as it should be, and if our running game were working last night, we'd see a much different set of objectives for the new QB. All we really need to be competitive is somebody to come in and make the right reads and let the rest of the team take over. A QB rating of 85 or so at the end of the season should get this team to the playoffs.

I've never seen such handwringing or even people writing off the season at 3-3. You're all a bunch of Nancies.

It's insulting Hos, because you made a comparison with Garrett -- a career backup -- and not Brady, Montana, etc. -- other late round draft picks who weren't stars. How dare you utter the possibility that Romo could be nothing more than a backup?? ;)

Of course if you compared him to Brady or Montana, you'd have to throw in the obligatory "I'm not saying Romo is Brady," to Cover Your *** (CYA).

Yeah, I think he is better suited to be a career backup. I don't consider that an insult either. I'd have given up years of my life to have that privilege.

Romo looks a lot like former Detroit backup Mike McMahon.

Boy that gets me excited.

Amen to that! He was absolutely amazing! In fact that game was not a loss to me,..it was the biggest damn win we've had in years. Some people are just so damned skeptial though and couldn't see a positive even if it bit them on the nose.

Romo is what we've all been looking for, let the growing pains commence and at worst we go 10-6 IMO. By next season we have a serious shot at the Super Bowl..:starspin
