Also because RB is a pretty easy position to fill, maybe.

I could care less he was still our best player and would be the best player on this team as well.

Emmitt on offense.

On defense . . . . hmmmmm . . . . given the current state of our Secondary, I'd have to go with D Sanders.

That is true, but so would Sanders. White and Woodson would be pretty damn close too, and they would fill huge voids in our current roster. Just seems to me, if we had the chance to bring in some old guys to shore up our team, we should actually try to improve weak spots, and not just improve our strengths.

Emmitt Smith.

I can't believe you guys haven't given him more votes.

If we had a young 22 it would be over.

Kind of what I was thinking. Emmitt Smith would be the 1st player I would bring back.

The only reason I didn't say Emmitt Smith is because of our scheme.

We operate more from a passing philosophy and a grind-it-out style to close out games.

And with Marion Barber III and the offensive line wearing down near the end of the season and particularly in the Giants playoff game, I wonder whether this offensive line is conditioned to the ground-and-pound game the Cowboys of the 90s played.

It could be. But that Giants game gave me doubts.

I think a secondary with Deion Sanders wouldn't have allowed the Giants to score right before the half. :bang2:

And even with a limping T.O., put Deion opposite him and the Giants receivers would have to roll coverage to Deion leaving either T.O. or Witten open. If they neglected Deion, he could burn them deep also. And he had great hands. And I didn't even mention his special teams play as a punt returner.

He's too much of a multi-threat to ignore, IMO.

I'll take Jason Garrett, but just because it would cause all sorts of space time continuity issues when he had to coach himself.

Your probably right but who knows.

We are better than the Giants, so was the Pack, and Pats.

They just got hot and beat us.

Im not really worried about the Giants going into next season.

Randy White toughest Cowboy ever and the man managed to get a Super Bowl MVP on a team with the starting QB was Roger and staring TB was Dorsett that says something

His attitude alone would make this defense #1.

To play on this team next year based on our needs.

I'll take a healthy Duane Thomas.

Someone to put on THIS team? Darren Woodson to replace Roy Williams.

Kevin Smith comes to mind as well since we could use an upgrade at CB. I'd much rather have him in his prime than meIon $ander$ any day of the week and twice on Sundays. K-Pup was just as good in coverage, better vs short routes, and he could/would tackle.

I would also consider:
Larry Allen over Kyle Kosier

Michael Irvin over Terry Glenn, or how about Bob Hayes as our "speed WR"?

Erik Williams over Marc Columbo

Emmitt Smith over Marion Barber. Barber is good but Emmitt was The Man!

Ray Donaldson over Andre Gurode

Moose Johnston over Hoyte/Anderson

Charlie Waters to replace Ken Hamlin but we'd also have to have Cliff Harris as well of course.

Staubach to replace Romo. Not that I don't think Romo is the real deal but I think Roger in his prime was better than Romo is now and that was the criteria.
