If you could bring back one Cowboys player in his prime ...

Larry Allen in his prime. He could play LG or LT and would just change the complexion of the O-line. If they re-signed the Hotel you could really gain yardage running to the left. Then throw in Davis pulling on occasion and that is a lot of bulk on the left side of the offense leading Barber down the field.

Dang...this is a tough one...

Irvin most likely would be my choice for his WR ability, of course, but also just for his fire and leadership he brought to the team.

Deion and Haley would be really good choices as well and I'd be VERY hard pressed to find a better guy to bring back on defense for us, with this particular team especially, than Woody.

and put him on the 2008 Cowboys team/roster, who would it be?

My choice: Deion Sanders. Not just because of his superb corner abilities but, in a pinch, he could play wide receiver too.

Your choice?

I said Sanders as I read the thread title. Boy would he make a difference.

My goodness, I can't imagine it's not almost unanimous for Emmitt Smith.

In his prime, the guy was unbelievable.

As for the scheme issue, believe me, the scheme would change to fit Emmitt Smith, in his prime!

I'd probably also go Deion circa 1992 shutting down half the field and returning punts.

Anthony Henry to Deion Sanders would be great.
Pat Crayton to Michael Irvin would work.
Akin Ayodele to Ken Norton would work.
Kyle Kosier to Larry Allen is good.
Marc Columbo to Erik Williams is good.
Find a place to put Lilly or White on the line over say Spears would work.

But he wasnt a Cowboy back then.

The title is bring back one former Cowboy player in his prime. It doesn't specify that he had to be in his prime while with the Cowboys.

I heard Ken Norton say he considers himself a 49er.

I loved the guy back in the day but that statement hurt me.

I consider him a niner also, but I consider Haley and Sanders Cowboys.

Herschel Walker... Then I'd pick up the phone quick and call the Vikings :laugh2:

Seriously for this particular team I'd have to say Sanders, just fills too many needs that we need at this time.

I'll take Jason Garrett, but just because it would cause all sorts of space time continuity issues when he had to coach himself.

Charles Haley.

Him opposite DeMarcus Ware.

Sir Charles put us over the top to make it to the Super Bowl once before... he'd do it again now.
