If You Could Have One Player, From Another Team

I don't believe ILB is a weaker position than FS or LT, where we know Adams has perhaps a year left at best. I think we should give Jason Williams a chance before that.

Ryan Clady. Best young tackle in football.
Your tellin me that Clady is better than Joe Thomas. Thomas would be my second pick cause you can't go wrong with Fitzgerald. Ed reed also ties for second with Thome.

I'd have to go with Matt Ryan. I have a feeling he is on the verge of being an elite QB in this league.

If I were to be content with the QB position I'd have to go with Jammal Williams at NG. The guy just eats up space.

If you really get down to it, it comes to a choice between the best young LT and the best young FS. I am torn because both are a problem for us and both are really REALLY important.

LT is a much more important position than FS so if you need both and have the opportunity to fill one or the other with equal talent, surely the LT position would get he priority.

Alexander: Clady only had three penalties and gave up just one sack. Thomas played well, but Clady was simply better

I think Clady is great also and is 2 years younger than an extremely youthful Joe Thomas. But this "simply played better than Joe Thomas" perspective I did not see. I think Jake Long was even better than Clady last year. Consider he has immobile and limped arm Chad Pennington throwing and Miami had success running the ball. As opposed to extremely mobile and rocket armed Jay Cutler and an unsually lack of a running game in Denver.

Joe Thomas is widely considered the best tackle in football right now, let alone best young tackle. The pro bowl isn't the end all when it comes to a players quality, nor are stats, but Joe went to the pro bowlhis rookie year and was 2nd team all pro this year. Roos (who was this years all pro), Thomas and Long got the pro bowl nod over Clady. Thomas' stats are no worse than Clady's and his talent definitely isn't either. Marcus McNeil is also considered one of the better tackles as well and at this point should get higher consideration than Clady in this regard.

Clady's good but there are better and I've named 3 better young tackles. 25 yrs old and under is considered young to me.

I like Ryan, but I would not take him over Romo, yet. If I am going with a QB, I would go with a player in his prime like Brady.

If I am taking a NT, I go younger like Vince Wilfork. Williams might have a couple of years left, if he's lucky.

For me it wouldnt be a player....It would be Bill Belichick. He would have cleaned house on the whiny players on this team years ago.

as far as a player goes, to add to this team currently It would have to be one of these two players....osi umenyiora who is like a brother to Demarcus ware and the combo would be deadly. Or A young vince wilfork a player I was livid we didnt get back in 04, A big nasty nose tackle up front would be tremendous.

You guys can keep your wr, They dont do squat when the heat is on the qb or the running game is taken away.

But If I were starting a franchise and had to have one player it would be Tom Brady 10 times out of 10.

I disagree completely. I would take Clady over all of them. He did have better statistics than Thomas, you cannot get any better than how he played as a rookie. That kind of upside is rare. McNeill has back issues and I wouldn't consider him better. Don't get me wrong, they are all quality (Long also), I just think Clady is great and isn't even as good as he is going to get.

I'd take Larry Fitzgerald first, Joe Thomas 2nd and wouldn't even look to Patrick Willis (who I think is extraordinary) for another few selections. I think Brooking is more than serviceable and ILB is nowhere our weakest position. Not to say LT or WR are either but they are by far more impacting positions on the field and much harder to find a spectacular long term solution.

I think Vince Wilfork would get my 3rd nod, he is 26 but what a monster. A NG like that with Ratliff at DE would give us 1 of, if not the best 3-4 defensive front in football for years to come. Talk about controlling the trenches and believe me, the LB's playing behind those guys look that much better than they already are.

Ryan would be if I were to look to build a team to win a title in a few years.

I think a guy like Jammal Williams could help us now and make guys around him better Spears and our MLB's. This would allow a move to DE for Ratliff.

I also think Wilfork is overrated due to his surrounding cast. Warren and Seymour happen to be the best 3-4 DE's in the NFL and probably make him better.

I think on a potential stand point you have Clady pegged dead on. Even coming out of the draft that's what shot him right up the boards and we saw why last year. Absolutely a great rookie season.

With Thomas though, I have 2 seasons of work to judge by, both pro bowl seasons with very marginal talent playing behind him at QB and RB. He still has a lot of upside as well and definitely is 1 of 3 tackles brought up when people talk about who the best tackle in the league is. He's just turning 25 too. No injury concerns whatsoever.

You're right about McNeil's physical history and that's why he was a 2nd rounder. The guy if healthy was going to go ahead of the other tackles drafted before him if not for his back and knee problems. As it stands right now he is more respected throughout the league and technically polished than Clady serving 3 seasons but he is not as long of solution at the position as Ryan Clady. Clady's only knock is his technique and like you said, his stats prove it's polished enough to get the results required at his position.

We'll see what he looks like with Kyle Orton snapping the ball this season. Believe me, Flozell would look a lot worse with Orton as opposed to Romo back there.

If I could have anybody, player, coach or executive, it would be Bill Belichick also. But they asked players.

Not many NFC East names on the list.

Nope. If you try to be unbiased, the only guys that would warrant consideration form the NFC East would have to be Ware, Umenyiora, Haynesworth, and maybe Witten if your team needed a TE.

Westbrook is just too old at this point.

What? And have to deal with all the negativity that having a celebrity QB like that would entail? Reporting on his wife buying him a golf cart along with pictures of him using said cart DURING the offseason?

No thank you, sir. No thank you. I want football players, not divas.

Randy Moss.

Makes EVERY QB he plays with that much better.

We need a deep threat, and he's one of the best of all time.

You cant make a "boneheaded" throw when you're throwing to Moss. He can come down with the ball when he's triple teamed. You want to cut back on Romo turnovers? Here you go.

Did you see any of those Raider games?
