If you could offer a 10 year contract to a head coach, who would it be?

There are some on here who believe that stability is what is needed (I do as well).

What young and upcoming coach would you offer the contract to?

Marvin Lewis
He is very talented coach, and i really like what he has done to the Bengals organization in his time there. He will be very successful in years to come

Marvin Lewis= Coach of the Dallas Cowboys:)

I said in another thread the young coach I would watch is Mike Shula. He just seems to have that little something that makes winners. Look what he's done in Bama with little talent the past couple years due to NCAA MOB sanctions which limited the number of scholarships they had and kept them out of bowl games for a few years. These two small things really limited what they could do. But look he's had consistantly strong D's and very well balanced O's. I just have this feeling he will be a very good NFL coach in a few years.

10 years is a long time but give me Troy Aikman.

I know it sounds silly but the guy is just flat out smart, knows football and most importantly knows what it takes to win. He'd be a hell of a disciplinarian and motivator and I bet an awesome offensive mind.

Kirk Ferentz of Iowa would be up there on my list.

A guy no one is talking about but people will is Ron Rivera the DC at Chicago.

Lovie Smith.

The dude has crap at QB (although their OL is awesome. Yes... Awesome) but he gets his team in the playoffs and with a first round bye.

Their schedule was easy though so we'll see if their for real or not in a couple of weeks.

My first choice would definitely be Bill Parcells.

But 10 years at his age is highly unlikely.

Marvin Lewis is a good one.
Jimmy Johnson, of course.
Holmgren's good, as well.
I like Mariucci alot, also.

and Nick Saban (Al Pacino) peaks my interest.

I would of picked Parcells too, but he said "young coach" so that obviously disqualifies him.

I like Saban too. Either him or Lovie Smith. Can't believe you don't have Smith on your list.

Nick Saban...dont' know if any of you saw that bit they ran on him on CBS on Sunday, but I came out very impressed. He's going to be one heck of a coach in the NFL.

OK...let's limit this to guys that are likely to be hired. Ol' Charlie ain't going nowhere for a long time, Marvin Lewis isn't going anywhere either, etc.

Actually I read today that he is interviewing with the Rams as we speak.
