Actually I read today that he is interviewing with the Rams as we speak.

I read today that he probably wasn't going to jump to the NFL this year. TOo many stories out there right now. I personally think he will, though.

heavy .........what do you think of art briles?

He runs somewhat of a gimmick offense at Houston. Yeah, it gains a lot of yards and scores a lot of points, but if you figure out how to stop it, its very easy to beat them. It wouldnt work at the NFL level, as the NFL has better athletes who could stop his offense.

Kind of like Texas Tech and Mike Leach's offense, though his is a very blatant gimmick.

He hasnt won a playoff game in all of his time in seattle.

Neither has Parcells in Dallas. Holmgren is probably about to change that since he's locked down homefield advantage throughout the playoffs. Parcells is doing what exactly? Oh that's right, deciding if he's going to retire with his barely .500 record.

I was talking about Rivera of the Bears, not the Iowa coach.

Why you bring up parcells? Im not stuck on his jock either. No playoffs wins in 7 years there sounds pretty sad to me as opposed to none in 3 years.

Briles was RB coach at Tech. I'm sure he copied some things from Leach.

Rumors in Iowa of Ferentz going to GB....although he denies knowing anything about it.

Isn't that what they ALL say? :)

That doesn't surprise me except that Chi-town is still playing.

These guys are getting paid millions of dollars to play football. They better be able to get up for a game themselves. However, it would be nice to see a guy who could get them up for a meaningless game, like ours against St. Louis...

Because he's the coach of the Cowboys. If Holmgren wins a Superbowl this year will that make him a good coach in your eyes?

The post asked a question, I answered it. Nobody is on anyone's "jock".

you're right that when it all comes down to it....it's the players that play the game.

but a good coach makes those players want to go out there and perform to the best of their abilities.

parcells is not that coach..jmo.

Kirk Ferentz of Iowa would be up there on my list.

A guy no one is talking about but people will is Ron Rivera the DC at Chicago.

It was being reported today that he was interveiwing with the Rams, I think.

There are people around here that are stuck on parcells jock like white on rice and I thought you figured I was too by bringing up parcells. Parcells is irrelevant to this topic!

And if holmgren wins a superbowl this year (which he wont do) my opinion of him would not change one bit...

10 years is a long time but give me Troy Aikman.

I know it sounds silly but the guy is just flat out smart, knows football and most importantly knows what it takes to win. He'd be a hell of a disciplinarian and motivator and I bet an awesome offensive mind.

You know, I was thinking about Troy as a HC myself.

Don't the Rams have to wait until the play-offs end to interview Rivera???

I realize he's still a longway off, but I bet Peyton Manning will be a great head coach once he's done with football. The guy knows the game, and after a few years as an assistant, I would be willing to give him a long-term deal to coach my team.
