If you could pick any two players in the first round of next year's draft?

I definetly agree we need a dominant DE, but Pollack ain't it. There are a couple in FA this year, but if we drafted one give me Erasmus James. I could care less were mocks have them rated. After seeing them both play James is going to be a much more effective DE on the Pro Level.
I have not seen the kid from Boston College play except for about a half, so he could be up there as well.

I fully believe though if you have picks in the top 5-10 you do not ever draft for need. Take the best dang playmaker!!!!

Kiwanuka looked real good when I saw him play, but I saw him against some pretty average opponents (UConn being his standout game to me).

Pollack dominated Florida.

DJ, Braylon Edwards. Braylon is MUCH better than Williams in my opinion. Just watch the highlights of UofM/MSU.

Get those 2 and draft a FS in two

Braylon Edwards will go top 15.

down one of the picks. With the other one select Mike Williams.

Acquire as many picks in the 2nd and 3rd rounds as possible. So far, my instinct is telling me that this draft is going to be a very strong in the 2nd and 3rd rounds because the talent is pretty much even.

I don't see many potentially franchise type players, but I do see plenty of good players.

After signing a CB or two in FA, I'd draft DT Rodrique Wright and WR Mike Williams.

Mike Williams will be the first WR taken in this coming draft....I've seen B. Edwards of Michigan on TV a few times this year, and he's a good one, but he's not in Mike Williams' category.

Williams will go high despite not playing this year for one simple reason...there's never been a WR like him in college or the NFL. Name the last WR with his height, weight, running ability YAC, velcro hands, athletic ability to twist and adjust his body, and blocking ability...heck, he's like having another H-back out there.

And while he doesn't put up the exceptional or even above average 40 time, due to his long stride, I've never seen him caught from behind by a DB when he is running away....surely some NFL DB's will run him down...they even ran Dorsett down a few times.

Bottom line is that this kid is a FREAK at the WR position...we see what Keyshaun can do...this kid is bigger, stronger, faster, more athletic, and known for being an extremely hard worker....that's why he'll be the first WR off the board...you can find great WR's in every draft, but this kid is one of a kind, and he owns all of the records at Keyshaun's USC in only 2 years of play with 2 different QB's.

I think the Cowboys need two PLAYMAKERS in this draft. That being said the offense DEFINITELY needs one. So I'd take WR Mike Williams. Guy played two years and was an absolute beast.
And as much as I love CB Rolle, the secondary has two high draft picks in Roy and Terrance. So I'd have to go LB or D-line. And since I believe John Abraham is coming via free agency I'd take LB Derrick Johnson.
So their you go, Mike Williams and Derrick Johnson. Two legit playmakers. They both could suit up tomorrow and be the best at their positions on the team.

If we draft a bit lower I like Pollack a lot. He definitely has the physical tools to excel. He also plays hard every down. Had 2 more sacks today against a good Florida OL and QB combo.

I like Edwards better than Mike Williams. I think he is the more developed player.

Rolle is the best Cb I have seen in a while. Granted Miami isnt as good on defense as they have been but its not his fault.
Edwards scored 2 TDs today and spoke to the media.

We have a Michigan fan on here who says he would NOT take Edwards.

After hearing him speak on ESPN tonight, neither would I.

I was somewhat interested before. Not now.

Williams is well spoken and eloquent. Just another reason to choose him over Edwards.

You know the older I get more I rate these players on things like their ability to communicate.

I do too. Look at history.

Emmitt, well spoken, intelligent, hard working. Still going at 35.

Lawrence Phillips, probably more talented, total bust.

Troy Aikman, well spoken, intelligent, hard working.

Ryan Leaf, imeptuous, talented and a complete disappointment.

One thing that always seems to separate the good from the great is the mental capacity. Seems to work that way in all sports too.

I love this quote.

"A man who works with his hands is a laborer. A man who works with his hands and his head is an artisan. A man who works with hs hands, his head, and his heart is an artist."

I'm looking for artists.

Rolle and M. Williams :)

If we could get these two guys alone that would equate to 10 years of very good Cowboy drafts. :D

DT Rodrique Wright and CB Antrell Rolle

With all due respect to those who want offense, we need some defensive playmakers. A great defense always helps out an average offense. (see Baltimore Ravens) But a great offense doesn't necessarily help an average defense (see Indianapolis Colts).

We need to get a push up the middle, someone who can command double teams to free up our ends. Wright would do that. If we had another top corner, our defense would be incredible.

Wide receivers, IMO, are a dime a dozen. Sorry if I'm not one of those who thinks Mike Williams is the next Randy Moss. If he were, then I would say yes to draft him instead of Rolle. But I don't think he is.

With the Cowboys cutting Eaton, we know we need help at the tackle position. So that's a no-brainer. But I think we can get by with the receivers we have now. Our problem is we don't have a back to fully utilize our pre-injury wide receiver corps.

But we need to get bigger on defense. Expect Parcells to focus there next year.

Antrelle Rolle - Miami CB
Mike Williams- USC WR

Rolle is a great cornerback and he is from Miami. Let's call a spade a spade. If they are from Miami, chances are they are going to be GREAT. Mike Williams is a playmaker and our receiving corps is old too.

Both of these players come from great programs with great coaching, and they have actually faced the very best competition at the collegiate level.

Kiwi and Wright. That would just be lovely for the Commanders. Maybe the Jets will draft one of them that way the Commanders will be able to get them in a couple of years.

Antrel Rolle and Mike Williams no doubt. Mike Williams would be such a HUGE addition to our team. A guy who can be a real playmaker and get some TD's. He's gonna be a beast in the red zone, theres no way anyones gonna be able to stop him.
Carnell Williams is also creeping up to the top of my list.

Actually Hos Edwards caught 3 TD's yesterday. That being said he also dropped a few passes that even our DB's would have caught. The kid has the dreaded P word. He got the potential to break a game wide open or the potential to break your heart.

I'd take Rolle and Mike Williams with my two #1's.

The ESPN screen said 2 TDs but it did say it was "in the 4th quarter."

I like the kid. My and a buddy were going to eat dinner in July at this Mexican restaurant here. There was a newlywed couple waiting for a table as we were. They were students at Michigan. I mentioned my interest in Edwards and the guy said, "you can have him." He went on to explain to me that there are a lot of character issues, etc. He mentioned Michigan's other WR Avant as a better person and someone he'd rather have.

That was all news to me. I still liked Edwards but decided to be wary.

RCowboysFan is a Michigan fan on this site. He is not at all enamored with Edwards. That was 2 Michigan fans raising red flags.

Then I heard him talk last night. I don't want him. Not in the 1st round anyway. Mike Williams or all defense in the 1st.

DJ and Rolle. I want our defense to be absolutely stifling again. Those two piled on top of Abraham and/or Rogers and I think the D could be incredible. Spend that money JJ!!

Shaun Rogers (DT), John Abraham (DE) and Gary Baxter (CB) in FA.

Trade one top-ten pick for a 2 and a 4, staying in the top 15.

1> Derrick Johnson (LB)
1> Braylon Edwards (WR)
2> Ronnie Brown (RB)
2> Brodney Pool (FS)
4> Kevin Everitt (TE)
4> Sam MayesÊ(OG)

Nice.

I would take that.

Especially IF we could pick up another DE and DT in free agency.

Get me a decent cover safety in round 2 and I would be as happy as a clam.
