Pretty obvious we'd go with the 2012 draft here.

If we traded up: Dontari Poe
Stayed put: Chandler Jones
Traded down: Harrison Smith or Mercilus Whitney

What if, this is secretly a Commander site where mods have purposely made it look like a Cowboy site to plant seeds into fans and have them disgruntled.

The skins don't need to plant seed, just turn the TV on and say watch this crap, while showing a typical dysfunctional Cowboy game. We're there already. Disgruntled might be an under reach too.

If i were told no to claiborne in 2012, id consider barron. I think he went pretty soon after.

Luke Kuechly from 2012. Next options would be Andrew Luck or Vontaze Burfict.

Dang, wish that would of worked out.

I would have taken Mark Barron. Its been a long time that we had an enforcer in the back field. I haven't followed up whats his doing but I really wanted the Cowboys to take him. Oh well.......

What pick would you replace and who would you pick.

Note: If you elect not to do a trade, who would pick at the original spot and who would you pick with the pick we gave up

Not w/in 4 years, but the biggest miss ever is taking Greg Ellis over Randy Moss. 2009 was the worst draft I have ever seen, even worse than the Kavika Pittman draft. No first but Cowboys trade out of the 2nd after missing C Max Unger by a hair and reach for a project like LB Jason Williams over a productive but light in the pants DE, Michael Johnson. Then exacerbate the mistake by taking yet another project in OL Robert Brewster over a productive OL like Louis Vasquez.

2011: Love Tyron Smith now, but would have taken JJ Watt or Robert Griffin

2012: If trade up, then Luke Kuechly but if Cowboys do not trade up then Quinton Coples with our first and Janoris Jenkins in the 2nd

And always hated the trade up with Philly (after trading down w/Cleveland so they could pick Brady Quinn) to grab Anthony Spencer (losing a 2nd) when Cowboys could have stayed put and chose S Eric Weddle and OLB Lamarr Woodley with their 2nd rounders. Both positions of great need at the time.

I hate the Seahawks. Although, I am a semi fan since I've family in Washington. They got Bruce Irvin 1st, Bobby Wagner 2nd, Russell Wilson 3rd. 3 Starter caliber players. The only decent production we got out of that whole draft was Leary. :/ Can't win it every year I guess.

We got Beasley and Dunbar as CFAs that year, along with Leary. And Crawford, Wilber, and Hanna in the draft. And Mo. Not world-beaters, but that's 5 role players and two starters. Not terrible.

To the OP, Kuechly is obvious winner in that first round if we're getting a re-do. There are several picks I like less than Claiborne in that round, though.

I can see us taking a CB again very high in 2015 draft

I really don't want to do that, but kind of thinking the same thing the last couple of weeks. Let's see what the off season brings first. I really want at least 2 front 7 players with the first three picks. Right now my draft wish list is long enough that we don't have enough picks to fill it.

Might as well not even give the option to replace any year but 2012.

I would have stayed put at pick 14 and took Quinton Coples at the time. Then I would have either tried to trade down in the second. If there were no takers, would have taken Alshon Jeffries at pick 45. Was a big fan of his coming out of college.

Must not have been that big of a fan... His name is Alshon Jeffrey.

If 2012 draft wasn't an option I would pick Clowney over Martin. OL would not be as great, but still solid with Smith and Frederick.

There are a few Cowboy fans that rage about passing on JJ Watt. I figured he would get a few mentions.

I didnt take into account that Mo was that bad

I'm with ya,I don't want to keep spending resources on the same positions. Mo may pull it it together but his rising my doubts.
Let's finish the line and we need s lB also.

Nobody is taking a LB when at the time everyone thought we had the second best receiving core in the league lol. It sounds crazy now but at the time people on this board thought very highly of Carter and Lee. We were also in the 3-4.
