If you looked on this board tonight without having watched the game ...

Amen, BrotherBob! We made a ton of mistakes, both penalties and new player mental errors, and we still beat a very good team with a great back and a very smart QB. And all that on the road!

We beat a very nice team, I did not watch the ballgame, but just remember in the long run, a ''W'' makes a difference from enterin' playoffs or not...Doesnt matter how we got it! ...Now lets think about the deadskins...

Go Cowboys!

You'd have thought we lost.

Look at the amount of negative threads!

Take a step back before spouting off on how dreadful this team played.

We stole a game on the road, beating a very solid team who kept our running game under control.

We prevented one of the most efficient QBs in the league last year from scoring on us in the red zone with less than 1:00 left in the game.

We won our opener in hostile territory ... a game all of the experts picked us to lose.

Did we get some help along the way, with a key player being out, and some stupid penalties on the San Diego D?

Abosolutely!

Did some of the rookies play like rookies? Did you have to hold your breath every time Bledsoe dropped back? Did our coverage team look like swiss cheese?

Absolutely!

But we took advantage when we had to, and a very inexperienced team with rookies in key positions won the first game of the 2005 Season on the road.

Wow - let's savor this victory!!!!

Kudos - well done, gentlemen!

:gent:

I agree, this is the NFL and team are going to make plays aginst us. Your not going to shut teams down when you are facing a team with some good talent as SD has. Road victories are even harder to come by!!!!

Someone mentioned Parcells was negative after the game like the posters here were....First off, I trust Parcells. I don't trust anyone here. We are all insane. So whoever the poster was above who compared the two was sorely, sorely, mistaken

The funny thing is, that our victory was a heckuva lot more impressive than Washington's. But if you go to Extremeskins, they are almost giddy about their performance.

Art even called their performance, "Dominating".

Just goes to show you, we look for perfection. We want to be a great team, and this performance just wasn't there.

I think our team is headed in the right direction toward greatness. No one will want to play us at the end of the season.

Parcells just sounded exactly like this board has - he said this team has huge amount of work to do and alot of the mistakes that he thought would happend...did. I dont think we are being too negative....just being honest about what happend before our eyes.

Parcells is the enternal pessimist when it comes to finding mistakes, which is excellent for coaching. But, I'm sure deep down inside he is extremely happy with this win. Not only did we win, we played well both on offense and defense, despite being bailed out a few times on legitimate penalties. We still had to capitalize. Yes, there were many mistakes, but we're playing an entirely new defense where we are relying on rookies considerably. We hung with a decent SD team and if we stay healthy and the rookies get more exposure, I think it's possible that we should only get even better. The offense looked much better than I expected and so did Drew Bledsoe. He really hung in there, and although he held the ball too long a few times, he executed really well.

I think some of those threads were during the game and early on when it didn't look good for us.

Of course mistakes were made and chances are we wil have other games that we will make mistakes but we showed today that we can overcome mistakes which is something this team has not shown in a longtime

Geez, i had to watch the Bears/Skins game. BOTH TEAMS JUST PLAIN SUCK. 3 FG's from the Deadskins and they get the win ..WOW!

Where were the Bears? (OFFENSE)

You can't script a better character builder for a team. I hope we continue to show mental toughness throughout the season, win, loose, or draw.

One of those very important ingrediants in building a winner.

So true.

Today's performance kind of leaves you wanting more; I can't wait until the next game. I also can't wait to go to work tomorrow and rub the Texan's fans noses in it. :D
