I'm telling you, the pick will be Ramsey. Stephen jones said that they look at what positions cost in free agency when they make picks. Read between the lines..... Good corners are VERY xpensive and great corners are stupid expensive. Compare Normans 15 million per year contract vs a Lamar miller or demarco murrays 6-7 million per year free agent signings. And both Carr and mo are free agents after this year. It's a no brainer.
.

By this line of reasoning we are taking Bosa because free agent DL is EXPENSIVE. Just look at Oliver who had 7.5 sacks get $85 million.

We have two young ones we've just drafted. Granted they are crackheads, but their contracts aren't up at the end of the season. Mo and carrs are.

People have a really hard time accepting things that conflict with what they want. Everything isn't some grand illusion constructed of lies and deceit to out maneuver some other team. Especially when the people who cover this team for a living are saying similar things to what was conveyed in the PC.

It's hilarious really, because people were saying the same sort of things about the team wanting B. Jones last year.

I agree that everything is not a big smokescreen. And I never listen to what Jerry says. But I found it odd and telling that Garrett spoke out so forcefully. He rarely does. And I think I this instance, it was intentional for some ulterior purpose. We'll see.

The conspiracies are strong with this thread.

Speaking of conspiracies, I saw a lot of talk in the press conference thread that Jerry Jones was perking up when talking about Elliott.

I did not watch live and last night when I watched the video that is posted on the official site, there was nothing of the kind, but the Ramsey gushing was front and center.

Was the video posted on the official site edited?

4th round pick will cost 25 million bucks or so for 4-5 years. A stud RB in FA will cost 35-40 million for the same time period. A stud corner in FA will cost 60-75 million over the same time period. And both our CB's are free agents next year.

Remember.......this is a business.......and it makes good business sense to take a stud CB in the draft at the 4 spot.

We haven't done anything "sexy" in years. Not since Stephen has started to really run things his way. He is FRUGAL to put it mildly. This is not your daddy's Dallas Cowboys. The pick will be Ramsey because it is the most cost effective thing to do. If you don't want Ramsey, you better pray to the football Gods that the Chargers take him.

The infatuation with DBs on this board is ridiculous. There has not been a DB worth a top ten pick since Sanders. I am for any position being drafted over Rsmsey this year.

:lmao2:

Hard to take you seriously on the subject after that comment.

Name them. There has not been a DB drafted that had the impact that Sanders had. Just because they are paid big money doesn't mean they are worth it. If they was , a player like Revis wouldn't bounce from team to team. The value isn't there when you look at the cost and impact.

Charles freaking Woodson. And dozens and dozens more.

You're really trying to argue that Darrelle Revis wasn't worth a top 10 pick in the NFL draft? That's crazy talk.

I can see Ramsey in San diego. Dallas will go defense the 1st 2 rounds. They're not going to pay a rb top money.

I want Ramsey to go there so we can pick or trade Tunsil. But SD has not even invited him for a look. Ramsey prob not going to SD

Looking back, Ed Reed and Troy Polomalu weren't worthy of a top 10 pick?

Uh, Sanders bounced from team to team. Falcons, Cowboys, Ravens, Commanders, Raiders.

Another "conspiracy" theory: why announce Brandon Carr's paycut a couple of days before the draft? To make it look like we know we are going to get Ramsey and Carr had to take the pay cut or be cut? Again, I am just reading tea leaves, but these are weird coincidences that make me think "smokescreen."

In today's presser, Garrett was overly effusive in his praise for Ramsey, calling him a "great player" who "jumps off of the tape" and "who was an impact player at the highest level" and "was highly endorsed by everybody at Florida State." These are the words of someone who knows the player will not be available because San Diego will take him or is baiting a team to trade up to 3 to jump the Cowboys. Garrett simply does not talk this much without it being intentional. We all know that from his "say nothing" press conferences. This one speaks volumes...

Mad props to you for seeing the tell by Garrett and sticking by your intuition. You called it and got it right.
