If you were offered these two options...

With my skill level I'd take the $10 million and go elsewhere. No way do I want to burden the Cowboys with my on-field ineptness.

Let's ask this a different way.

If you had $10 million in your bank account, would you pay $5 million to play for the Cowboys?

ah i like the way you think...the $10 million mole

I'd take the 10 Mil and wouldn't care who I play for...anyone who says otherwise is talking ****.

It's one thing to answer it now, but if you have those 2 sums of money in front of ya, then are asked to make the decision, EVERYONE would pick the 10 mill.

If you love football, you love football. Could care less who I play for. 10 mill is 10 mill.

Like one poster said, your kids, kids, kids, would be set. You'd live a baller life.

I absolutely love the Cowboys, I really do. But I'm taking the mula babyyyyy.

lmao. Everyone who picked the Cowboys would now pick 10 mill after it being asked this way, no doubt.

Good question. No.

I'd buy season tickets, go to every away game, and invest that 5 million instead so that my money worked for me not me for my money.

I didn't take the time to read through this thread, so if I am reposting my answer and someone else has already used it, then I'm sorry. I guess I'll just look like a fool.

I'd play for the best team in our division besides the Cowboys. Yeah. That's right. I'd take the 10 million and I'd torture the living **** out of the Cowboys twice/three times a year until they were absolutely forced to give me a long term huge contract just to keep me off of the opposition.

I choose the Cowboys. For me, loyalty means more than money. I just can't sell my soul to the devil for money. To wear the same jersey and Bob Lilly, Randy White, Roger Staubach, Tony Dorsett, Emmitt Smith, Bill Bates, Moose Johnston, Michael Irvin, Troy Aikman, etc....I am sorry, but some things money just cannot buy.

I would turn down millions and play for the league minimum just to be a member of my hometown San Antonio Spurs. In the contract I would have a small section for my parents and siblings. For me, having them be able to come watch me play so often means far more than the millions I would be turning down.

:stop:Save it. This aint a job interview.

I just need 2 mill to be set for life with the right investments, 5 is way more than enough to set myself up and my entire family. 10 would be for the lazy undedicated fan..

95% either don't know how to invest their money wisely or they just aren't true fans..

How does taking 10 million mean I'm lazy and undedicated?

Your own family would laugh at you if you told them you'd walk away from 10 million to play a game.

Being a true fan has nothing to do with it. Do you think Peyton Manning was a Colts fan growing up? Do you think Favre was a Packers fan? Do you think Jerry Rice was a 49ers fan growing up? Do you think 99% of the NFL plays for the team they grew up watching? They may claim to be, but truth be told how many do you think turned down the money to play for a team they grew up a fan of?

Was Jerry Rice undedicated? You may feel high and mighty, but if the decision was right there: Play for 10 million and play a game you love, or take half as much to do the same thing, you wouldn't take half.

:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

:laugh2:It's true homer speak. Think about this too. There are plenty of free agents that had a team that they rooted for growing up, but I bet only .01% took that opportunity over the money.

You seem to think you know me and that's cool but it is no big deal to me either way. The OP asked if you had a choice, most if not all those guys you mentioned didn't have a choice. Personally I'd be ecstatic with 3 mill and playing for my favorite team, has nothing to do with being high and mighty, it's about preference, history, and soul for me...

The true fan response is to become a mini-Haynesworth. Take the $10 from the skins and dog it until you are cut. Anything, up to and including buying their fight song and releasing chickens and turkeys (thnx cowboyJoe) is reasonable. :)

I'd take the 10 mill and throw all of their games - especially those against Dallas. :D

Let's say that two competing NFL teams offered you, a player, a contract.

1. The Cowboys offer you $5 million.
2. The Eagles/Commanders/Giants/insert-hated-team offer you $10 million.

(apart from money, all other things in the contract are equal - length of time, conditions, etc.)

Which would you take?

Get over foolish love and hate things and do whats best for my personal success. That is: take the money. I mean it's fun when you are a fan to do some talk but at one point in live you have to get realistic again and live your own live and don't cheer for others to have success.

At that time i would chose the Giants simply because i think they have the biggest chance to be successful. What i don't wanna do (even for money) is play for a losing team.

Hum..Is Albert Haynesworth a Cowboys fan?

I would take $10M from the Commanders then pull a Fat Albert on them. :laugh2:

I'd take the $10 million. With another NFC East team using a roster spot and cap space on me, I'm already helping the Cowboys.

For the people who picked the Cowboys, remember it is a business. Would your thoughts change about your favorite team if they treated you like dog poo for the whole season? Or if at the end of the season they put the blame on you and released you in a public manner? How about prior to the first game if Dallas asks you to take a pay cut down to 2.5 million or they may release you?

I guess my question is what would happen if your experience playing for your favorite team was lousy?
