If you were to buy a historic piece what would it be?

Whatever I could get from the Titanic, always been obsessed with that topic. Other than that, maybe an authentic arm ring from an actual Viking? I dont know how much these things would cost lol. And of course, some Cowboys stuff would always be great as well. Definitely wouldnt mind a game worn jersey or helmet from one of our Super Bowls.
Ha! I rarely wear jewelry but I’ve looked at viking rings and necklaces as well. Most I’ve found are surprisingly cheap and since they were originally done in bronze they have been covered with silver. Here’s one of the better websites I’ve found.

Probably a Confederate Calvary sword that is in great shape to add to my collection.
Boy howdy! Collection? What do you have so far? I’m constantly looking at civil war relics, even ones I know I can never afford. The Civil War was kinda my jam for a long time, I still read about it all the time. I have a pretty generic officers saber with no known maker but pretty cool etchings and Tiffany model 1840 calvary saber (aka wrist breaker).

a friend of mine has a NFL football that was signed by a lot of famous Cowboys from the team
in 1979 including Staubach and Landry and many others.

In 1985 I offered him $1000 for it.

10k today probably would not touch it either.

truth be told you can't get much for 10k these days.

OK for the sake of fantasy, if I had the discretionary funds, I'd buy one of the early Larivee custom acoustics with some gorgeous inlay.

Thanks for the replies! I find every answer fascinating, I’d like to ask a bunch of follow up questions in the next day or two if I get the time.

Wow, I remember having all the Winne the Pooh books in the 60s w that kind of binding and cover prob discarded by parents - also had Baltimore Orioles entire set of baseball cards circa early 60s with Clay Dalrymple and other famous peeps on them prob worth a fortune now and also thrown out by parents. The only I DID think to do was go to the local Safeway in 1964 and get rolls of dimes and quarters and collect all the silver ones out of them and give the rest back to my parents knowing silver was being stolen back by the govt like gold was and replaced with fiat paper. NO idea how I knew that at age 7 but I did.

I have a Confederate naval sword, some Confederate money, a few bullets from various battles, some Confederate buttons and a CSA belt buckle. I have been looking for a sword in top condition for years. They are pricey, especially the ones with some documented history behind them. It’s a big investment for an item, but it’s not like they are making any new ones these days. I would really like to start collecting Celtic, Viking and Crusader items since I have ancestors from these various groups. I love history and since i started researching my family’s participation in some big historical events, those objects seems to have greater on a personal level.

the guitar Elvis used at Sun in 1954 when he recorded That's All Right.

the lyric sheet Elvis used at RCA in 1956 when he recorded Heartbreak Hotel...his first gold record and his first #1 hit.

Elvis' red jumpsuit worn in '72 and nicknamed by the fans the burning love jumpsuit.
he gave it away to gospel singer dottie rambo in vegas sometime after the film Elvis On Tour.
it has been up for auction so its still out there...but not in the collection @graceland.

Elvis' black gibson dove guitar...Elvis used it on tour and in the studio from '71-'75.
he gave it away to a fan at his concert in ashville,nc in the summer of '75.
the fan put it up for auction a few years back.
graceland had reps there who were bidding on it to get it back in Elvis' collection.
i never heard if they won it back.
its my favorite of Elvis' guitars.

any Tom Landry call sheet.
any of Coach Landry's playbooks.
one of his iconic fedoras.

If $10,000 is the limit, I’ll go with a signed Cowboys football. $10,000 will get you one signed by multiple famous players.

I’d love a nice guitar signed by Thom Yorke. He doesn’t sign too many autographs, and having a nice guitar signed by him is pretty special.
