If we wind up with a high win count this season, placing us at the bottom of the draft pile, would you prefer to stay put and take what comes or use something as a trade chip for picks this year before the season is up? If the latter, who would you trade and why? I prefer to stay put, I think the young talent and depth here is great. I really don't want to lose much of anyone we've got right now to be honest. I just want to add to the pile of talent.

If at all possible I would rather stay where we land. On the outside chance that there is just Nobody we want at that pick, I am not opposed to trading down. Still have a bad taste in my mouth over Mo.

There is a trade deadline. It's around week 8.

i think you are putting the carp in front of the borscht. We still half the rest of the season to contend with.

Is it this time already?

Doesn't feel like late Feb 2015.

Sigh....Always the "It's not time to talk about it" wagon. Come on, guys. Just don't comment then fellas lol. I don't think at any point my query was "Hey, can I talk about trade deadline and the future of the team yet? Asking for a friend." :D I assure you that they are already evaluating, I'm just trying to get others perception on current talent and play.

I think it's a legitimate question because I think we're in a window with Tony and we better take advantage of it as soon as possible. I look at the Bills and they have a solid team but the QB position is killing them.

Texans are in the same boat.

I can't begin to tell you how much I hated the Mo pick from the go. I didn't like his college tape either.

There are guys who cash paychecks every two weeks signed by Jerry who worry about this stuff.

I don't mind the question. Like you said I'd ignore the thread if I didn't want to participate in the conversation. That being said though, I'm new here, but wouldn't this make sense in the Draft threads? To your question however, unless a Dez type fall (supreme talent drops early 20's for BS reason) I'd stay put and take BPA. Not that I'm already tooting the FS horn (and I do like Wilcox) for the record, but the S pool is decent (as of now anyway) in the late 1st to early 2nd. Heck I'd even trade down.

I forgot my helmet at home and Jerry hasn't pulled me off the practice squad yet so.... Back to the draft?

I'll talk draft with you. I'm already ready for the Giants game...beer and steaks in the fridge and Vodka in the freezer, can't be anymore ready than that.

I would trade Morris Claiborne for a 7th. Why? Let's put it this way: he tackles even better than he covers (I'm digging deep trying to find some positive spin for trade bait) and he has a ton of experience fighting through injuries. Maybe I can get a 6th for him:muttley:

Maybe a bucket of wings...and I'm an LSU fan, but I can't defend Mo any longer, not if he can't defend lol

That's fair. Although, usually the Draft threads are more direct in subject like scouting particular players etc. I was just trying to see what everyone thought about the trade deadline that's around the corner. See what everyone feels about where we are now because, it IS time to either prepare for a trade idea or sit tight and wait for the draft. FS so far is an area of opportunity. Although I like Wilcox swag and hopefully with time, his play will be more consistent.
