Normally I would laugh at a post like this and say if you don’t care, don’t post

Wentz was injured all the time but has a skillset that is desired in the NFL. Jaylon Smith provided nothing on a LB level and they obviously tried to trade him, but nobody wanted him. Not sure how you can blame our GM for that. Maybe blame him for the Extension :).

Indy and Frank Reich places a much greater emphasis on running the ball, vs having Wentz attempting to throw 40-50 times in Philly, forcing him to carry the offense, while getting beaten up to a pulp.

And Colts have a reputable OL unit., One of the better OLs in the NFL. - and they also have compatible weaponry with WRs Michael Pittman, Pascal, etc.
and apparently they don't and are not rely on injury prone Ty Hilton anymore.

When the Iggles traded Wentz to his former Philly OC, i figured he would likely have a better chance of success, .and health than if he wouldve stay in Philly, that considers
running the ball as an after thought.

It was more a move by Indy, as Reich wanted his QB back form his time in Philly.
If not for that, Philly would have never had a team trade for Wentz. Not for what the Eagles got anyway.

This was a lucky trade for them, not any genius involved. It was a no brainer trade though for them.

It is what it is. I am sure all the closet Eagles fans on here will be out in force come draft time.

The Eagles have been very good at trading players they don't want, though. Not sure what connections their GM has, but it seems to work for them. Thankfully, they are not all that good at using the picks. After all, if you're trading a quarterback you took No. 2 overall shortly into his second contract, that's a fail.

I remember when we traded a pick to the Browns for a next year #1 from them during the Parcells years only for the browns to have their one semi decent season during that stretch. Sometimes you are just unlucky.

Roseman has had a spotty record in drafting, but you have to give him a 10 out of 10 for how they handled Wentz (once he decided he wanted to leave) and the latest draft. Of course he partly created the Wentz debacle, but regardless credit where credit is due.

We cannot get anything for players like Jaylon Smith when his tenure with the Pokes is over but the Eagles find a way to get a number one pick for an injured and questioning his abilities QB who was essentially run out of Philadelphia.

Jerruh, please hire a real GM because you and Stephen are just not cutting it. Your efforts during the past 25 years has been abysmal.

Trying to use these two trades as an indictment of Jones as a GM is ludicrous.

You expect something for Jaylon??? I would’ve gave up a 3rd just for someone to take him last year

As of today, Philly has the 12th, 13th (MIA), and 17th (INDY) picks next year......so they could position themselves very well in terms of talent acquisition.

Look at the Eagles last 5 drafts. Who cares? They are a horrible drafting team

The genius move for them would have been to draft Mac Jones at 10 instead of DeVonta Smith.

If it makes you feel better the Eagles are a terrible drafting team

True that. And that was the purpose behind my original post. Not to place a garland around the Eagles but to show that in this narrow lane they seem to have the right formula. Other than that I hate the entire franchise from the top, through their hideous fans right down to their clean up crews.

So you see no difference in values between Jaylon Smith and Wentz?

Have you watched any football this year?

No joke, no way to know Derek Anderson was going to be good for his one and only good season.
