I'll admit it I was wrong about Horbath

Not completely fair, but since other members of the team have to wear the tag... wasn’t he just a garbage time kicker? Kicked a bunch of inconsequential 40 something yard field goals and then went and sat down on the bench...

Maher started off hot and everybody was saying they believed it was stupid to release Dan Bailey..

get over it he was making 3mil and was terrible, they cut him and Maher was better that season.. you cant use an IR spot for an overpaid injured kicker..it was the correct decision at the time.. it took 18months for Bialy to get back right..no one could predict that hed come back and you again cant waste an IR spoot for a 3mil kicker with an injury hard for them to come back from..

it happened to Nick and he never got back to being great..Nick foles was as good as baily at one time but the same injury took him out.. hes still decent but not the same

The Pats are ...but they are the Pats they have no idea what they are doing

I don't think that label applies since he didn't repeatedly fold under the pressure of consequential kicks. At worst you could call him "untested".

they've been through 6 kickers this year..and? NE does just about anything differently anyone who uses them as an example is wasting time , its a the other 30 teams you compare to normal happenings around the league..

its not NORMAL to use an IR slot for a kicker making 3mil a year and possibly never coming back right, the difference in my memory is baily came back kicked horribly, went to MN kicked horribly and finally got right...NE kicker went on IR and will come back fully healthy and they HOPE hes right..

They put Gostowski on IR for the season at 2.5m, they know how good he is and they want him back. I will use NE as an example any day if we were half as smart as they are as a team and organization we would have won a couple of SB the last 25 years. The other 30 teams with a few exceptions could all learn from the Pats because what your saying is 30 other teams are all stupid so we should follow their example and not the example of the model franchise the last 20 years. I remember when we use to be the model franchise

they in every way are different than all NFL teams. they are not the norm they are the exception.. lets see how well he kicks when he comes back..get over it

it was the right move in the moment and the only reason it wasnt is because you have the luxury of hindsight and see he came back to form.. most dont

moving on and so should you..it way past that 2 full years..

Just like we use to be when we went on our run for 20 years or so , we were the exception

The best thing the Cowboys did this year was cut Maher and bring in Horbath I mean the guy was money and made all his kicks and not only did he make all his field goals and extra points he made them look easy! Outside of the two kickoffs that went out of bounds, Horbath was one of the few bright spots for the Cowboys this year even if he only played a couple of games. I think the Cowboys will be looking for a new kicker in the offseason but maybe Horbath sticks around and tries to compete for the job.
Funny part is he was available most of the year with the exception of a couple stints here and there he was available before the Patriots snapped him up Maher should have been gone long time before that
